"Found garbage in the bed which leaves me to believe that the sheets were not changed, gave us the wrong room, I booked a King and got a double, had to wait 40 minutes to get the right room. Not a nice experience at all."

"The whole property was 'TIRED'. First think noticed, was no automatic/accessible button to open doors. Difficult to manage luggage and hold door open. Sign in was good. Room was big. Bathtub had hair in it. Tile grout was dark and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. No comfortable chair. Only one at desk. Huge vacant space available for chair or table. Black out drapery was torn. TV reception was not clear at all. We had a supposedly 'Executive Room'. It sure did not seem so!! Parking was good. We enjoyed and delightful meal at the attached restaurant. We had planned to also have breakfast there. Was supposed to be open at 7:00 AM. It was closed before we got there at 9:00 AM. Overall, not a very good experience!!"

"I stay in a lot of hotels and I’ve never written a review or walked out on a stay before this experience. It was so bad that we handed the key back and didn’t stay. Where do I begin? The smells (like cat urine), the drywall mud patches on the walls, dirty, terrible. I’ve been in touring bands for years, toured all over Canada and the USA (even oilpatch Alberta) and I’ve never seen a property this run down in my life. The owners refusal to refund my money or even offer explanation is wild. VRBO is refusing to help as well as Expedia passing the buck two and fro. You will get the runaround. This property is so desperate for your money that you will not get it back. Do not book this property. After speaking to some locals, we found out that the city of Renfrew pays this… “establishment” to put up the city’s addicts and unhoused for the winter. Avoid at all costs, especially if you have kids or you want to stay married. Had to book another hotel at extortion prices and lose my investment as well. AVOID."

"The property is beautiful, the hosts were great. There were many amenities provided inside the cabin. Because of the steep and rocky climbI was especially glad water was as provided and I didn’t have to lug it up with me! The propane furnace made for very comfortable nights. My kids, large dog and I found the cabin to be plenty roomy enough for eating and sleeping. We had a delightful time. "

"Rooms are very clean. Beautiful view from the living room. Quiet and friendly neighbourhood. Great wifi & internet. A portable induction stove is available. A full size cooking stove/oven would be nice."

"We enjoyed our stay, the location is nice, and there is a large beach area. I don’t normally like to leave reviews but I was disappointed with many things about the cottage itself. It is in need of repair. None of the interior doors would stay closed and the beds were uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The sofa bed was broken and uncomfortable (which was noted in a comment a few years ago and not dealt with). By the end of our stay a cupboard door was hanging on one hinge. Also make sure to bring extra paper towels and toilet tissue as we ran out after our first day. Of note, there is only one empty water jug there, not two as was advertised. It would have been nice to have a full jug of water when we arrived so that we didn’t have to go back to town as soon as we arrived to get water. "
