Mckenzie River Cabin #13 at the Log Cabin Inn, screened porch, .5mi Trailhead
Get your hearts and cameras ready for some wonderful family memories gathered while enjoying this beautiful new cabin, built right next to the historic "Hoover Cabin" where President Herbert Hoover frequented back in his day. Clarke Gable and the Duke of Windsor also visited the famous stage stop, restaurant and Inn, along with many others of notoriety. Wander the entire seven acres and hundreds of feet of Mckenzie River frontage as you soak in the beautiful surroundings. The grassy meadow offers a serene setting for laying out, hanging out with your favorite people or is ready for your impromptu game of frisbee football. Walk across Mckenzie Bridge and enjoy the Bier Garden of the Mckenzie General Store, featuring several micro-brews on tap and a surprising menu of lunch and dinner options fashioned at the Obsidian Grill. MGS offers live bands and movie nights along with many other themed entertainment events weekly throughout the summer. Also, right across the river is a boutique bar and grill experience called Mckenzie Station. Takodas Resturaunt is just about 4 minutes west of the cabin and offers a great menu for all three meals, plus cocktails. Blue Sky Market offers gas, propane, and groceries, plus supplies and prepared, ready to eat, foods. Within about 2 miles, you could be hitting that long drive and making that curvy putt while enjoying the old growth trees and Three Sisters cascade mountain views at Tokatee Golf Club, rated as one of America's greatest public courses. There are at least three natural hot springs in the area for your soaking enjoying. Terwilliger Hot Springs, aka Cougar Hot Springs, is clothing optional and just 15 minutes from the cabin. Belknap hot springs offers a man made pool full of natural hot spring water, if something more conservative is in order. Plus, the benefit of the pool, is that you can actually swim in the hot water, instead of just soaking. Another, smaller, Spring is just upriver a few miles at Deer Creek Rd, but this one is for those who really want that "on the river, hot-spring experience" (this one is also clothing optional). Take a drive upriver a few miles to Sahalie Falls and walk down the Mckenzie River Trail toward Carmin Reservoir. This is a short hike, but allows you to take in the wilder portions of the Mckenzie River near its beginnings just down from Clear Lake. Don't forget the camera. Take the scenic drive up Hwy 242, the old Mckenzie Pass, to the huge lava flows of Belknap Crater. You can go up into the lava stone tower and see nearly all of the Central Oregon Cascade Mountains. Sisters, a western style historic town just east of the mountain passes, is just an hour from the cabin. Annually, there is a huge Sisters Quilt Show and the famous Sisyers Rodeo takes place every June. Hoodoo Ski Bowl is just half an hour from the cabin and offers snow skiing, snow boarding, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing and tubing for the kid in you. The tubing park is great for family time and the auto rope pull back up the hill allows you to enjoy the kids all day long without wearing yourself out. The famous Mckenzie River Trail is about 26 miles from just about half a mile from the cabin to up above Clear Lake. Hikers and Mountain Bikers love this trail, but so do fishing enthusiasts who love fishing from hole to hole as they walk casually upriver. Stop in at the Ranger Station for area maps to all of the natural attractions of this scenic area. Most importantly, take time for the re-creation of yourself and the re-connection with your loved ones in this perfect setting for both. The cabin is fully equipped with all appliances and furnishings. There is a bedroom with private bath downstairs offering a king size bed and another bedroom with full bath upstairs offering two twins. A queen sized inflatable mattress can also be made available if necessary. Please advise us when you book.

Can tell that the owners either use it as their residence during the year, or they went all out in stocking the cabin with amenities for guest use.
Lovely cabin, and location, and would stay here again.

We loved the cabin and the grounds. It was very nicely maintained and was well equipped. I loved the outside porch facing the river, it was a lovely place to have a meal and visit with family. We would definitely stay here again.
My partner and I adored this cabin. Communication was great with the hosts and they were so accommodating. Instructions were clear and check-in/check out was a breeze. Thanks for the great stay! We will be back!
This is our fourth or fifth time staying at cabin 13, and it's one of our favorite places to go to. It's always clean and inviting, and we can sit back and enjoy the river flowing by. We're so glad we found this place.
my father and i stayed here as my cousin had her wedding just down the street. lovely little cabin with a pretty view of the river, very comfortable. would love to come visit again!
Small birthday celebration with friends. The cabin was perfect! Very well equipped with everything we needed to stay in while being in a perfect location to venture out into the great outdoors.
We will be back.
Our family enjoyed our stay very much. The property manager was extremely responsive and welcoming. The view is great and the cabin is clean and cozy. We will definitely be back.
Well appointed cabin with river view close to rafting and fishing on the Mackenzie River. Perfect for two to four fishermen. Nearby eateries with good menus and craft beers. Will definitely keep this place on the list of great options.
This was an amazing cabin!!! Not only was it exactly what we wanted with a quiet get away, it had everything you could possibly need. Host gave great instructions and had details about the area. I really can’t think of anything more that could be de done. All round a great experience.
Had a great time on the Upper Mckenzie, we came on an unusually hot weekend (over 100 deg every day) however the cabin stayed nice and cool. Had a great time fly fishing in the river in the morning and evenings and paddling on Clear lake. Its a beautiful area with lots to explore hope to come back again and hopefully when its a little cooler out.
The screen porch is lovely and sitting down by the river is just good for the soul.
The home is comfortable and has the basic necessities for cooking.
Very comfortable bed.
We went to see the eclipse at the Dee Wright Observatory. It was cloudy but we thoroughly enjoyed the area as there was so much beauty around. The trees, river, waterfalls, mountains and the peacefulness more then compensated for the clouds. The cabin is lovely and comfortable. It was the perfect vacation home. We will plan a winter trip now.
Lovely group of cabins on the McKenzie River. Lawn areas nice open space. Cabin with screened in porch was wonderful. Perfect for husband and me plus daughter and her husband. Well equipped kitchen. Clean.
What a sweet cabin! It’s very comfortable, super clean and well outfitted. We stayed over Thanksgiving and had all we needed for meal prep. The king bed was much appreciated. The upper level bedroom with 2 twins is so inviting. Great cabin ambiance! We enjoyed walking the grounds with our dog and there are lots of longer trails for hiking close by. We’ll definitely be returning.
We stayed here for a weekend to attend a nearby family wedding. House is comfortable and cozy and pristine. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there so we could not enjoy the scenery or spend much time sitting on the screened porch overlooking the river. The gas fireplace was lovely though! We completely enjoyed our stay at this property.
My wife and I stayed here as we were in town for a wedding at Loloma Lodge which is just a half mile away. The cottage is absolutely adorable! The pictures don’t do it justice. Very clean, well kept and very charming! The grounds are incredible and there is a lovely view of the river from the home which is 50 yards to the water’s edge. Highly recommend this place, I am very picky as I own several personal rental properties, I can promise you won’t be disappointed here. Lastly, my wife really appreciated that the whole cabin was scent-free.
Decor so tasteful, calming, relaxing and woodsy with the Knotty pine interior walls. Well-appointed kitchen with more than everything I needed to prepare meals. I actually slept on the screened-in porch which felt like camping with the rushing river lulling me to sleep. Wish I could stay for a month!!
We took a guided fishing trip on the McKenzie and caught lots of fish to eat! We used our own inflatable kayaks the second day. Then we went up to the local waterfalls and enjoyed a hike on the McKenzie river trail.
