Bishop's Castle Barn is a superb, detached stone cottage just 1.5 miles from Bishop's Castle, next door to the owners' home, and can sleep four people. The cottage has a lower ground floor double bedroom with an en-suite shower room which is accessed down 4 steps, a ground floor king-size double bedroom (zip/link, can be 2' 6'' twin on request) with Jack-and-Jill access to the main bathroom, a first floor kitchen with dining area and 4 steps leading up to a mezzanine sitting room with a sofa bed for flexibility. There is also a heated drying room at the front of the property, ideal for drying off wet coats and boots. Outside there is off road parking for one car and further parking is available in Bishop's Castle if required. There is also an external bike rack, along with elevated decking with furniture and a barbecue. Bishop's Castle Barn is a lovely base for a memorable holiday. Please note: Some reviews may mention a hot tub, but this feature is no longer available at the property. EV charging - approx 2.5KW (additional 45p charge per KWH payable directly to the owner)
The Neighborhood:
Located just a few miles from the Welsh border in the South Shropshire Hills, Bishops Castle is a town with a rich heritage boasting a weekly market and a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants and is well known for its annual Real Ale festival (and 2 local breweries) as well as numerous other events throughout the year. The town is an ideal base for walkers as it is close to the Welsh Marches and Offa's Dyke which formed the ancient boundary between England and Wales, as well as being within close proximity of the delightful market towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow.
