"I booked two rooms at the Capital Hotel in Melrose for a business trip. Upon arrival, we were informed that there was no record of our booking, despite us having a confirmation for that same day. After presenting the confirmation, we were told that the booking had actually been made at the Capital Hotel in Sandton. We again showed our confirmation clearly stating Melrose. After some time, the manager came to assist the front desk. Only then were we informed that a group booking had extended their stay, and as a result, our reservation had been moved to the Sandton property without any prior notification. In over 30 years of business travel, I have never experienced anything like this. The lack of communication, poor handling of the situation, and overall unprofessional approach suggest that management is not adequately overseeing basic hospitality standards. To make matters worse, no refund, complimentary meal, or even a simple gesture of goodwill was offered to compensate for the inconvenience caused. A very disappointing and unacceptable experience."

"This was my first time visiting JNB. Location was fantastic close to the mall and Mandela square. Staff was fantastic and breakfast with lots of varieties. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Staff was very attentive to details. "

Unfortunately the power kept going off and their generator only provided lighting, no power sockets or tv which was frustrating. Investing in a better generator backup system would be good for customers. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. "

"The Southern Sun O. R. Tambo Hotel was a home away from home for us. We stayed there one day at the beginning of our trip to South Africa and for three days at the end. The hotel staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome. The hotel is very clean and well-appointed. The breakfast is amazing! And the restaurant was excellent for lunch and dinner as well. The best thing about the hotel was the staff -- they helped us with every request with a smile, whether it was large or small. I would definitely stay there again."
