Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Maypole Travelodge
Very comfortable, polite and attentive staff who responded quickly to requests. Car park operated by third party, a little restrictive, having to enter car details each 24 hours.
Hotel was fine but very close to major roundabout and road crossing. No air-conditioning in room so window had to be kept open. Traffic noise did not abate until midnight and started again at 5am.
Great location but be aware of proximity to road and traffic

No problems with the travelodge but please book direct and not through hotels.com
Thanks to them I was nearly unable to check in as you need physical ID which they never told me. I’ve since made several complaints and not been acknowledged. Very poor website that I won’t use again.
For anyone staying here you must take ID if you book through an agent - but not if you book direct makes no sense I know!
We booked in advance to have 2 travel cots in the family room. When we arrived very late at night, there were no travel cots and I had 2 sleeping babies with no where to put them. The staff tried to bring cots for us, but could only find 1, so we ended up having to sleep a baby on a bed with no sides etc. Not very safe at all! The 1 travel cot we were provided had no mattress, just the hard board at the bottom- not fit for a baby to sleep on! Not acceptable at all.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Poor standards
Wasn’t clean, the bathroom smelled like sweat, cleaners didn’t come. I guess you get what you pay for…
There were hair on the bed, windows had mould. The room was closed 4 days ago and was never checked before handing us the keys.
i made videos took pictures looking for a refund but nothing happened.still waiting fir a response. i bookes through hotel.com and because they paid using their own card i couldn't claim a refund as well so total disappointment !!This is not my fault that they used their card to pay and waa denied a refund.
And if travelodge were atba mistake then again hotel.com shouldn't be having them as partners ,its gonna ruin their image as well.

My room was adequate for my needs during my stay but I was being picked up for an evening out at 4pm so having the reception not open up dead on time at 3pm didn’t help me out and I had to rush to be ready. The staff weren’t apologetic to being late either
Lots of stairs, lift broken. Quite a noisy room as it’s on a busy roundabout but we needed the window open as the room was hot. Carpet in the corridor needed replacing. Shame to see a man urinating in the car park! However staff were very nice, the cost was reasonable and the room was absolutely fine and it was convenient.

All good on the room front as were given an enormous corner room biggest room we”ve ever stayed in in a Travelodge or Premier Inn - only criticism would be the mattress is so hard certainly nothing like the Hypnos beds in rival Premier Inn don’t think my back would take two nights in a row in all honesty.
