Birchington-on-Sea is a small seaside town with a pleasant beach at Minnis Bay overlooking the Thames Estuary and the Reculver Towers further up the coast where the bouncing bombs were tested. There are a number of buildings from the interwar period or inspired by them but the jewel in the crown is the Twentieth Century Bed and Breakfast. The owners, Kat and Spencer are true aficionados of the period and is demonstrated by their commitment to the renovation of the property and the interior decoration which has been recognised by awards. Having had the pleasure of staying in the Baron and Lady Carson Art Deco Suite it was comfortable, relaxing to watch the sun set from the private terrace and enjoy a superb cooked breakfast in the morning.

Incredibly friendly welcome from the hosts who showed me to my room, discussed the breakfast options and showed me how to enter/exit the property etc. The room itself was very clean and styled very well, with a modern en-suite. The hosts have done a fab job! I would 100% recommend staying at Twentieth Century B&B!
