"Property is a mixed bag. Good things are REALLY good. Great pool, access to lake for paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, etc, clean, private, big common area, and 2 large refrigerators. Host responded to all of my queries promptly. Based on those things our family had a great time. However when we arrived at 4:00 PM on our first night, the thermostat said 83. We checked to make sure cool air was coming through vents and we had trouble finding vents. The house has been built piece-meal and that appears to be part of the problem. The air-conditioning, as is, does not keep the house cool. It was working, because in the middle of the night it would cool down to 75 or so, but during the day we couldn’t get it any cooler than 81 which made for a stifling experience indoors. One of our family members is the chief engineer at a Weston Hotel. He did not see any point to calling, because it’s the set up not that it wasn’t working. Issue two was the place needs some repair. The major couch is obviously broken, and it has been reviewed as such but not taken care of. Wood chairs outside have cracked slats and are dangerous for people to sit on. Furniture needs painting. Also, some very quirky things like shower heads that come up to your chest and bathrooms you walk through closets to access. Check your bill carefully. We were initially overcharged 200 for early arr./late dep. Luckily we caught it, then we requested it. We were declined and promptly asked for refund, which we received."

"What a wonderful place to share a week-long lake vacation with family! We were so glad we chose this property and location. It was ideal for our multi-family getaway with its varied ages and interests. Good restaurant options are nearby, as well as stores, if needed. Sarah is a tremendous host and was remarkably responsive to our questions.The access to excellent areas for boating, water skiing and tubing really spoiled us. Our grandchildren enjoyed swimming off the dock and playing on the sand beach. We were thankful we didn’t have to haul our paddleboards or kayaks. They were provided.There is plenty of lawn space for outdoor games, including corn hole. We used the firepit for s’mores and often ate on the home’s large deck, which offered both sunny and shady seating.The interior boasts a cozy, but modern, lake vibe. The kitchen was clean and adequately appointed. We liked the spacious counter and the efficient layout. We used the butcher block island for food prep and the occasional serve-yourself buffet. A large dining table and counter stools accommodated our indoor dining needs.With many living areas, you could hide away with a book, gather with a group to play games, or watch TV. We loved the natural light, especially on the main floor, thanks to the large windows with picturesque views of the lake. The sauna off the downstairs bathroom was a nice bonus. This Crosslake home is really a special place. We will cherish the great memories we made on this trip!"

"Great place. Simple kitchen fits the boathouse motif. The sounds of traffic creep in each morning, and of course some boats on weekends, but the location for us with the dock and the view are excellent, exactly what I sought, and Pam is a fine host, well-organized and responsive, We may return."

"This was our fourth stay at this incredible property, and somehow it just keeps getting better.The Johns are truly exceptional hosts, and it's easy to see the pride they take in both the property and their guests' experience. The home is situated on what we believe is the best spot on the Chain of Lakes, offering beautiful views, a private beach, dock, and every amenity you could hope for, including kayaks, pedal boats, yard games, and so much more.Everything is always impeccably maintained, from the home itself to the stunning landscaping and pristine beach. We especially appreciated the thoughtful upgrades that have been made since our visit last summer. It's clear the hosts continually invest in making an already amazing place even better.Our children always look forward to coloring in the guest book, and it's become one of our favorite family traditions. This property has become a special part of our summers, and we've already booked our stay for next year.If you're looking for a place to relax, make lifelong family memories, and stay somewhere that truly exceeds expectations, look no further. Thank you again to the Johns for another unforgettable Fourth of July. We can't wait to come back!"

"Good place and accurately described. Kitchen was stocked with utensils and small extras you may need. Nice dock area and fire pit. The screened in patio that faces the lake is where we hung out the most. It is a nice area. Down side was working with our boat trailer in the parking area. This is at a dead end and there is very little space to work with besides your car. Turning around with a trailer is not possible. TV in upstairs bedroom would not work and really could use at least one king sized bed."
