This was our second stay in Chris’s home, and again, it was amazing! 4 minute drive to Snow Summit, kitchen ready for prepping easy homemade meals, plenty of room for our family of 6, and the game room is AWESOME! Highly recommend- it’s the only place we’ll stay for our quick ski trips! Chris is also a super friendly, responsive host! Just book it!

Definitely a must stay!

Our church used this cabin for our 3 pastors that were attending our annual men's retreat. It was very accommodating. Plenty of space, house was very clean and well furnished.Chris was an exceptional host making sure everything went well. (Thanks Chris)We would definitely book this cabin again.

The game table in the game room didn’t work and small things like lack of paper towels were not ideal. The rest of our stay was great.

Nice stay!

The overall rating would've been five stars, but upon arrival in the late evening, we discovered the TV and video game in the game room wasn't working, which was a disappointment to the teens in the group. The host was very responsive and helpful and we eventually figured it out the next afternoon, but it would've been nice for the cabin to be fully functional from the get go.Other than that, it was a nice, cozy stay and everyone was comfortable with the beds, the central heating and amenities. The host was communicative leading up to and during our stay.On a side note, know that it is a steep driveway to the house and while we didn't experience any issues driving up and down it, it's just a nice to know.Enjoy your stay!

Big Bear Holiday

The property was amazing. Not far at all from the village and grocery stores. We managed to hike at a couple locations nearby. The place was perfect for all of us and the kids loved it. Would definitely stay again in the future!

Thanksgiving family escape

The cabin was spotless and had so many amenities. We spent Thanksgiving there and used the pans and serving dishes to make a beautiful dinner. The stove and microwave worked perfectly! Chris was a very patient host with all my questions and even offered suggestions on nearby things to do. The highlight of the stay was the loft and game room. My 3 boys actually talked to each other and hung out there the whole trip. They were just having so much fun in their own little space. They hooked up their Nintendo Switch and played games together. We also enjoyed the darts, arcade table, chess table, shuffle board, and we brought our own card games and mancala. There is so much to do around the cabin. We walked up the road to a little hiking trail nearby. You could even walk down the road for food. It's a short drive to the village and lake. We drove to another hiking trail by the lake and enjoyed the beautiful views! There was plenty of places in town to eat and get treats. Snow Summit is so close, and my son has been asking to ski. We took Chris’s suggestion and took a ski lesson, and he had a blast! We really enjoyed hanging at the cabin surrounded by all the pine trees. It was the perfect base for our outings.

A perfect place for our family! Great for our grandmother with no stairs for her. She was able to have access to the bedroom, restroom, kitchen and the living room. Our two children had their own place in the loft with their own restroom with their own tv, they loved their privacy. They also had a fun game room with games including Pac-Man, foos ball and chess/checkers. We also had great grilled steak dinners. We had great communication with the host. He promptly answered all our questions and gave recommendations. It’s almost like he thought of everything.

Quaint cabin

Cute little place in Big Bear with room for the family to spread out. Loft for the kids and game room is good for entertainment The place is clean but blinds are a bit dusty and could use some body wash and shampoo in the showers so we don’t have to run out and buy that as soon as we arrive. Minor details We will rent again next time we’re in Big Bear for sure.

Awesome Home for Adults and Kids!

This house is a gem if you have a range of kiddos at different ages. Our son had his 14th birthday with some friends. My wife and our younger daughters were able to stay in the main house, while the boys did their thing in the huge play room. The playroom has a ton of space and kiddos came in the main house to eat all our food of course. We thought we would have (7), but one of his friends jumped onboard last minute making it (8). We didn’t feel crowded at all even though there were more available beds upstairs. Chris did a great job communicating, we had a slight mishap when we arrived and within minutes it was resolved. There are a lot of choices in Big Bear, yet this property is within a few miles of everything, the slopes, grocery store and restaurants. FYI, in the back there is a cool classic ski chair lift and a small hill. The boys made a jump with the friendly neighbors tool below and the girls played on the swing and snow. All in all a wonder, clean yet classic cabin in the woods, thanks Chris and family for letting us enjoy your home, we had a true blast.

18th bday with family and friends

6 of us had more than enough room to sleep, hang out, and relax. There was everything we needed to cook and enjoy two in cabin, meals, and all of the amenities are as described in their listing. The location is perfect for Bear mountains no Summit the grocery stores and any restaurants on the boulevard. Thank you Chris for a wonderful property in which to celebrate our daughter.

Ski trip

A Perfect Retreat!

We absolutely loved this property! It was a clean, updated, and rustic Big Bear cabin. The woodwork was awesome! We had Thanksgiving there with just our little family, and my kids (3 teens) said it was the best Thanksgiving they had in a long time (and I agree!). They absolutely loved the game room and loft, since these spaces gave them places to hang together (a rare occasion at home!). The game room was open, light, and spacious. We also enjoyed the nearby walking trail and overall vibe of the area. Chris was an amazing host, and we definitely hope to stay there again! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Home away from home!

This was such a cute place to stay. The location was great, right down the road from the dam side of the lake, Vons and Stater brothers. The house itself was very well kept, clean and well stocked. The kids LOVED the loft and the game room and all the adults enjoyed having so much space to spread out but still feel connected. The swing outside was a beautiful place to hang out at night and listen to the quiet and stargaze. I took one star off for online accuracy only because the angle of the pictures make the space look WAY bigger than it is in person. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice sized space but it's not as spread out as it looks in the pictures. But it's beautifully maintained and updated and our party of six had more than enough space. The backyard is NOT fenced in, however and the trees open up into 3 other backyards. Not an issue for privacy or anything. But we had our dogs so that was just a minor inconvenience in our instance. There is a little kennel area on the side of the house and a tie off in the ground though so if your dog isn't like ours and will pee on leash, you're good. Lol Overall, amazing stay. Chris was a great host. Very kind and more than accommodating. The kids didn't want to go home and we all would love to go back. Thank you Chris for your incredible hospitality.

Perfect Vacation

I have stayed in many VRBO properties and this was my best experience ever. The main reason for this was the owner. We planned a family trip to go snowboarding and as it turned out our visit was during the historic snow storm of 2023. The owner knowing that the roads where going to be bad on the planned travel day called us and suggested we come a day earlier. Boy where we glad we did. The owner was outstanding about communicating with us the entire trip. The home was absolutely beautiful and was just what we needed for our trip. The upstairs loft was great for our teenagers to have their own space. They also spent many hours in the game room when they could not get out due to the snow. When it was time for us to go home and all the roads where closed the owner was totally understanding of the situation and allowed us to stay for two more days. I would highly recommend this home and am hoping to get back up in the spring for some fishing.

Big Bear Retreat

The house was cozy and fit our group well. We stayed with another family and the loft was perfect for our kiddos. We all enjoyed the well-appointed & fun rec room! We loved the location - easy access to both mountains, close to Von’s and a short drive to the Village. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and great for walks.
