Settle in front of your favourite boxset on the Smart TV, start cooking in the sleek kitchen area. There is also a table in here where you can sit down to your holiday meals on those occasions you choose not to dine out. As night falls, wander down to the lower level, where you have a twin room and two inviting king-size bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms. The family bathroom is also here. Spill out into the enclosed garden on sunny days to play games with the children or your pet. Dine in the fresh air and sit out under the stars with a drink on summer evenings. There is private parking here for two cars.
Head 2 miles into charming Appledore to potter in the shops and galleries and have lunch out. During the high season, take the ferry over to Instow to enjoy the sandy beach there. Follow a section of the South West Coast Path, perhaps the 6-mile stretch to pretty Clovelly. This picture-postcard village is known for its donkeys that in the old days would carry loads up and down the cobbled hill.
