"We have just returned from our wonderful holiday at this beautiful Gite in a lovely rural area of France. Amanda & Graham were the perfect hosts and went above and beyond to ensure we had the most relaxing stay with the use of their pool and sunbeds. The welcome gift of wine and treats was very much appreciated after our long drive from England. Easy access to the motorway is close by for day trips out. We particularly enjoyed visiting La Rochelle and Poitiers and doing everything French...

"We visited the house and were so blown away - the photos don’t do it justice. The pool is perfect, clean and safe for children. The grounds are ideal for playing and for relaxing. The house is very impressive , with a well stocked kitchen for all cooking requirements! The rooms are spacious. We liked the cupboard full of games! "

"We had a wonderful stay in Montignac-Charente. The apartment is a short walk to the town center and we enjoyed stopping in at the patisserie and the cafe. A full grocery store is a short drive away. Our dogs also loved long walks along the country roads beside fields filled with sunflowers. Our host met us when we arrived, kindly showed us how everything worked, and even gifted us some apple preserves that tasted fabulous on our morning croissants. There was more than enough room for the 4 of us...

"Arrival - we found the property with no issues. Property zip code took us straight there. Bedlinen and bathrooms were clean. Flies were a problem, mushroom growing in the shower, tiles in shower need updating and replacing, door latch plates were all loose (made doors difficult to close), we didn't manage to get the tv working at all, light fittings in the kitchen were hanging dangerously from the ceiling, oven very dirty and difficult to light (think the gas jets needed a clean - i gave up),...

"Everything you need for a wind-down in the country. All you could need is provided in the clean and comfortable gite. Not quite silence - there are sheep a couple of fields away and the hum of insects gorging on the flowers. Walks through the fields and woods in the area from the front door. Genial hosts with good local knowledge, friendly and discrete. "

"The photographs of this property on the website do NOT do it justice - the house, the grounds, the facilities (especially the pool), its proximity to the Charente and excellent shops in Ruffec make it a perfect location for a family holiday. "We were very happy with our stay at Hobogite. Lots of thoughtful care from our hosts Rob & Lene to provide everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Much appreciated!! It was extremely peaceful and the garden & grounds were gorgeous. We have booked again for next year which I think says it all. If I might be permitted to make a couple of small constructive criticisms. The key press was awkward to use, especially in the dark. We had eight or nine days of rain & therefore spent more time inside than we would have liked. The sofa wasn't the most comfortable, but it was OK. Overall we had a very enjoyable and relaxing time. The pool was lovely and although we were only able to use a couple of times due to weather, hopefully next year we'll spend more time down there. Rob and Lene, in lots of little ways, show how they genuinely care about the comfort of their guests & that they enjoy their stay. Who can ask for more? "

"Perfect house for a big family get together. Lots of spaces for people to gather or just do their own thing. The highlight was undoubtedly the large swimming pool where everyone spent most of their time. Nice outdoor dining area and BBQ where we ate most of our meals. The patio at the front of the house was perfect for sitting in shade when the sun got too hot, looking out into the green rolling lawn and a beautiful redwood tree. Lots of games for the kids and the adults enjoyed the pool table too. Very well equipped kitchen with separate larder, two fridges, coffee machines and everything a cook would need. Patrice was very helpful and responsive. "

"The week was wonderful. The location is wonderfully scenic and quiet and Thomas as host was brilliant - helpful and on hand to help manage the pool and share info about local activities and possible trips/places to visit. Very welcoming and friendly. The house was lovely - with plenty of space and everything you need to just unwind and relax. Evenings spent sitting outside under the stars were lovely. "

"Had a wonderful week in this beautiful property. It was so much more than we were hoping for. The house is tastefully decorated giving it a real homely feel along with French rustic charm, and was equipped with everything we needed. The Gite gave us even more space and equipment and is again beautifully decorated and maintained. The swimming pool is fantastic and was a real bonus in the hot weather. The shaded gazebo was also a lovely addition to the pool area. We used the large local supermarket and ate at home for 3 nights and found some great restaurants in the nearby villages to experience the local cuisine. The hosts obviously care about their guests experience and their property and we loved the welcome pack on our arrival. A great time was had by all. Thoroughly recommend. "
