Bective Abbey on the banks of the River Boyne was a Cistercian Abbey founded in 1147. What we found so interesting about this historic site was that it was not only free to enter but that we were free to wander around unrestricted.
Waited so long for sunset by this bridge beside Bective Abbey!

Room was adequately equipped, warm enough and clean though a bit small. Shower was good and bed was comfy. A proper coffee machine would have been good. Breakfast was adequate. Good to see plant-based milks available.
