Casa del Cielo

Welcome to Casa del Cielo in the heart of vibrant, reggae vibe Old Bank, Bastimento. The house in the sky is surrounded by stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. Fall fast asleep to the lapping of waves from Firefly Beach. There are water taxis coming and going and surfers heading out to favorite destinations. Be as active or lazy as you want...we have hammocks waiting for you. Home to Wizard, Red Frog, and Polo...and just a water taxi to others.

Built as a split level house with an open air living area with brand new patio furniture. There is a fully equipped kitchen and 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and guest bathroom. Even the back of the house has an incredible view. It rises above the town so there is privacy. Named Casa del Cielo (House in the Sky) , you walk up many steps to get to the house. *We recently built a new stairwell for your safety.

The 2 bedrooms have full baths, A/C and televisions. There is good WiFi, drinking water, and hot showers. The kitchen has a gas stove, refrigerator and appliances for cooking your own meals. There is also a coffee maker, toaster, blender, and microwave. There are also mini fridges in the bedrooms as well as a guest bathroom downstairs.

Bastimentos is a 10 minute boat ride to Bocas town, 10 minutes to famed wave “Silverbacks”, 20 minutes walking trail to Wizard Beach, and quick water taxi to Red Frog and Polo Beach. Take a tour of "Up in the Hill" the chocolate and coffee factory or explore Firefly Beach with it's rocky trails...you might find a perfect conch shell if you're lucky.

*While Basti has a couple of Bodegas you should stop at one of the larger grocery stores in Bocas before coming over. There are Creole restaurants ,bars, and hostels. Lysette's and Alvin and Ketcha's are delicious and affordable. On the higher end is The Firefly, which is a wonderful waterfront dining experience. There is also a police station in the center of town so you will always feel safe. The locals are warm and friendly. This is a true Caribbean island with no big commercial enterprises. It is all geared to adventurous travelers.

You have the entire house to yourselves! Marilin will show you the property and then their is access to a lock box at the front door. When you arrive in Bocas head to Lysette's at the dock for a beer and free Wifi to reach Marilin.

Marilin is our amazing hostess and manager. She lives in the house below and will assist to your needs during your stay. She lives in the house just below. She speaks both English and Spanish.

You get here by flying on Air Panama or Skytrip from Panama City or crossing in a van from the Costa Rican border to the main island of Colon.Panama .then taking a Bastimentos water taxi for a 10 minute ride to the main dock on Bastimentos .

Fresh water is provided, however, if you need additional water it can be provided for a small fee.

Again, please be considerate about usage of AC, water, toilet paper, etc.
