「Stays there with my girlfriend for my first year anniversary, that staff were absolutely amazing super happy to help with anything we inquired, the room and bathroom were spotless and towels and robe were fresh, the breakfast was amazing and bar had loads of variety of drinks and cocktails」

「It's in the process of having a refurb. Good location and we got a great deal for 2 single rooms overlooking the main street. Traditional hotel. Decent bar. Typical keg beers, but reasonable prices. Rooms tidy. Lovely bath, if you prefer a soak. Probably a 4.6/5 for me. 😊」

「A great location to stop after a long drive. Very convenient. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spotless with lovely locally sourced products. Whilst we didn't eat dinner here it was busy and there us a children's play area too. We ate at the Hare & Hounds; a very pleasant 20 minute walk away. There is plenty of car parking spaces at the Gilpin. The breakfast is very basic. We would definitely stay again but not opt for the breakfast.」

「We have enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay, the location was spot on only 2 minutes to Lake Windermere and the ferry landing point. Colin is the perfect host, very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and looked after us well. Breakfast was a lovely; full English in a cosy setting. The room was fine with all amenities. It was our birthdays whilst there and Colin decorated the room, these touches are most appreciated. Definitely recommend 10/10」

「The staff were attentive to our needs. We ate there on the second night of our stay. They food was lovely and hot when served. We did not wait for too long from ordering to getting our food. There were limitations on what we could have both on the food and drink side due to delivery issues. My and I were are aware that there was music being played when we went to bed, but I did not really interfere with us getting to sleep. Eat plugs were provided which my wife used. 「Good location. Friendly & welcoming staff. Great views of the bay from our room which was lovely & spacious. Stairs only to access rooms so beware if you have heavy or large luggage. À la carte breakfast was good quality. Convenient with the onsite bar & restaurant. We stayed during the week so no problems with noise. Car park is in a back lot & very small. 」
