This property was amazing. It is across the street from the land bridge that takes you to bar island and about a 5-7 minute walk to downtown. The breakfasts were truly gourmet. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay. The location was perfect - easy walking distance to downtown and just a short walk from the Bar Harbor trail sandbar that is only passable at low tide. The staff were great and the savory and sweet breakfast options were delicious! Plus the water pressure in the shower was fantastic! Would definitely stay again.

Perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor. We could walk to all the spots in town. Chris, the house manager was personable, knowledgeable and most importantly, present every day. We stayed in the top floor room #10. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning easy to regulate and the shower was outstanding!!!! Breakfast on the porch each morning was delicious and offered a savory or sweet option each day. Coffee always available. Chris arranged for live music in the garden several nights which was an unexpected bonus.

Chris the manager was terrific and staff were great. Breakfast was good but an option for something less fussy - oatmeal or soft boiled eggs would be good for ‘non Breakfast eaters.’ Nice porch to relax would have been nicer if we’d been able to purchase a glass or bottle of wine. But nitpick. Thanks for a wonderful day and 2 nights in beautiful Bar harbor.

Beautiful inn, comfortable and more. Hosts are so welcoming and helpful, the room was lovely. Muffins, cakes, cookies, coffee available during 'snack-needed' times of day and included breakfast was fabulous. Walkable to Bar Harbor stores and restaurants. Will be coming back.

I really enjoyed our stay at the Sand Bar Cottage. The private bath across the hall was small, but clean. I was surprised by the condition of the toilet though. You would think that they would be able to replace a toilet seat when the porcelain starts to chip. It was a small think, but a little icky. Everything else was great. Loved the live music and the breakfast was great. Lots of conversation around the communical breakfast tables. The bread products were very tasty in the morning as well as the afternoon treats. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. Overall I would stay here again.

The Sand Bar Cottage is an EXCELLENT choice. It is perfectly located and a great establishment. Chris the manager is incredibly personable and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was 5 stars. Stay here!

Fantastic FULL breakfast—coffee, tea, juice, muffins, and a gourmet entree each morning. Our room was in the back “secondary” house on the second floor. The location was great, very walkable to town. Loved the live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the garden. We would definitely return!

Lovely main inn building with beautiful furnishings and a wonderful breakfast, coffee, tea and beverages and treats. We stayed in the "Cottage" out back and our room was spacious and comfortable. I cannot say enough about this property! From the amazing staff, to the fine details, this is hands down one of my favorite places we’ve stayed…EVER! I loved that gf breakfast was an automatic option. The room was so spacious, and decorated with so much care. Chris, the owner talked to us at breakfast, and is so down to earth. He’s got a great thing going, and we’ll be back for sure!!!

This is a charming place to stay in the picturesque Bar Harbor area. We were there for four nights. The room was fantastic, clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The real winning touches here are the little details and efforts made by the staff. A fireplace that often has a welcoming fire, tea time complimentary cakes and punch, scrumptious breakfasts, and an occasional offer of live music out on the grounds. I would recommend this place for anyone who is hoping to catch that B & B/independent old inn kind of vibe during their stay in Bar Harbor.

We had an amazing stay! The property was beautiful, exceptionally clean, and exactly as described. Everything was well maintained, and it made for a very comfortable and relaxing experience. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Every person we interacted with was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and always greeted us with a smile. Their outstanding hospitality made us feel valued and at home throughout our visit. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would gladly stay here again. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay with exceptional service!

Our (my husband and I) stay at the Sand Bar Cottage Inn was truly awesome. The property itself was so charming. Our room was in a separate building and was spacious and comfortable. It was very quiet. Our daily breakfasts were so delicious -- one option was savory - like a sausage frittata and the other sweet - like banana foster pancakes. Truly, the breakfast was a highlight of our day. The location could not have been better. Just a quick walk to main street and the harbor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when our plans bring us back to Bar Harbor.
