Great family friendly unit

The kids loved sleeping on the bunk beds and the couch was super cozy. Thanks for providing pool noodles -they were a hit. Everything we needed was provided in the kitchen and pool towels. The check-in/registration process was VERY LONG!! We waited in the lower parking lot for an hour before being allowed up to the lobby where we had fifteen minutes to get unloaded in the dark. Indio pool and hot tubs were all excellent. The shuttle to and back to the lower parking seas ok but not very convenient

Ski weekend

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean and updated and perfect for our group. The beds were very comfortable! The owner was very responsive when we had questions or concerns.

Gorgeous views!

Our family of five stayed very comfortably in the condo. The accommodations are perfect, new linens, seemingly new furniture and comfortable beds. Everything was convenient for us. We cooked a couple nights which was a nice option after a day on the slopes. The views were breathtaking. We would defiantly stay again. Those looking to book know that you will need to shuttle up and down to your vehicle and it’s about less than ten minutes to get to the ski lodge.

August in the Mountains

We really enjoyed our stay at Sugartop. This unit was very nicely updated and equiped. The staff was very nice and the amenities were great. We also enjoyed the sunsets over the mountains that we saw from our balcony.

A room in the clouds.

The room and stay a Sugar Mountain Resort was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this location. The staff and the shuttle service were top-notch.

Can't Wait to Go Back

This was our second time enjoying the hospitality of Maggie and Michael, and for the second time, we were greatly pleased. The apartment is pleasantly appointed with more than adequate supplies and incidentals, from extra blankets to all the cookware we needed. Everything functioned well and there were no surprises. Our errors in scheduling were quickly and pleasantly made right. As far as the physical location, the view is incredible, and the staff were capable, pleasant, and timely in responding to our needs. During busy times, guests are not able to use the nearest parking, and must use the shuttle to the lower parking lots. At first this seems problematic, but we never waited more than a few minutes for the shuttle and were delivered door to door, so we really spent less time walking in the rain! We heartily recommend the owners and the property, and feel comfortable knowing that in looking forward to our next vacation in NC we know where we want to stay...right here again.

The property has a wonderful view we loved everything, everything in its place and clean, our only problem was when checking in, we were attended by an elderly man, very rude, he did not greet us and he did not respond to the greeting, he could not find our reservation and had it in the nose, it was very rude. the vans and security personnel are very friendly. when we checked out we were met by another very friendly person. besides that everything was perfect. the owners are very responsible and respond to you immediately. my family and I had a lot of fun. we would go again

Ski getaway

Nice 2 bedroom unit with great view of slopes! Pool was closed for repair and fireplace did not work. Cigarette butts were on the balcony when we arrived. We did enjoy are stay and the unit was decent!

VRBO was not ready when we checked in

As a business owner, I was disturbed and irritated with the overall cleaning of this property when we checked in...The cleaning crew need to be more attentive. There was a lot of dust on the countertops, hair on the back of shower doors, no sweeping under the beds or couches/coffee tables...Sheets were not cleaned upon our arrival... As for the owners who live 3 states away in Florida...They need to either find a better cleaning crew or train their current cleaning crew to be more efficient & productive so these issues do not arise again. Overall, I blame the owners & the cleaning crew for issue...Again, I was horrified with the state of condition this room was left for me upon my arrival in Sugar Mtn. Sincerely, David L.

Great room great owners however inconvenient

The room we stayed in was very nice and communication with the owners was perfect. However the staff at sugar top itself were rude and no one could give me a straight forward answer. One employee told me where storage was a different employee told me Somewhere else ended up getting locked out and couldn’t get to my belongings and got scolded by the front desk when asked about the storage being locked. The shuttle to take you from the parking lot to the hotel you would have to wait for for 5-10 minutes at a time. The parking lots themselves were completely covered in ice with no rock or salt added. We chose this location with the pretense that the slopes were easily accessible and that was very far from the truth. There was no way to walk to the slopes from the building and the curtesy shuttle that ran from sugar top to sugar mountain ski resort took us back to the room at lunch and never showed up or answered calls again costing us an afternoon and night of skiing (due to the parking lot now being g full at sugar and not accepting any others and didn’t give us the chance to buy the night time lift tickets at 5:00.) Again the individuals we rented from their room and their communication was great but the resort and the accessibility to the mountain as promised was poor and we won’t be staying here again. Skiers and snowboarders beware don’t cost yourself precious time having to deal with the hassle that my family and I had to deal with at sugar top. (Again not that owners of the unit. They were great)

Overall happiness

Great place for a girls outing...read reviews before booking...all were correct. Location was good & views of mountains were spot on. Also spot on were the reviews of the cleanliness of the unit. Not to any fault of the property owner as I understand they are at the mercy of the cleaning team...

Things that i found

Shower curtain needs to be washed. (Moldy) Tubs were a little dirty. Dishes were not done or put away. But on the high note. The pics did not do your property total justice. It was much nicer than i thought it was going to be. This was a last minute vacation so i took what i could find. I was happy over all. Complaints are for owners only. I manage a few properties here in Brentwood Tn, and i like to know when my subs are missing things or cheating because in the end it hurts us as owners/property managers

Unit had not been cleaned, but owner made it right

The unit was great. It was comfortable and had a spectacular view. Getting to Sugar Mount Ski Resort takes about 5-10 minutes (down the mountain and then back up). Only issue was that the unit had not been cleaned when we arrived, which was about 9pm local time. I called the owners and they were very responsive and apologetic. They coordinated with the on-site staff to get us clean sheets and towels for the night and then had it fully cleaned the next day while we were out. They also gave us a reasonable partial refund. Overall, I felt the situation was handled well on their part, and was likely due to an unusual oversight or miscommunication and not indicative of a typical problem.

Christmas getaway

Everything was as expected. We had a great time! We had plenty pantry staples and that was wonderful! Grocery stores were close by and easily accessible. Weather was perfect! 10 inches of snow the day before made for great fun for the kiddos. Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful view

It was an absolutely gorgeous view, comfortable beds after a long day out and about! The place has everything you would need to cook a nice meal, lots of room to enjoy a meal and relax by the fire! We loved it!
