Or sit and relax on the comfortable corner sofa or swivel chair watching the dolphins out on the bay, the sunrise in the morning or if you're staying in the winter you may even see the Aurora Borealis. Dish clothes, dish towels, pan scourer and washing up liquid are provided for your stay. We also have a Tassimo Coffee Machine which we provide a small selection of coffee and hot chocolate pods.
Conservatory - Too chilly of an evening to sit outside? Then why not have that tipple of choice in the conservatory where it will still be warm and pick a book from the book shelf to unwind in the evening.
Upstairs
Double Bedroom - If you were unable to fight for the King Size bed then you will be waking up to the beautiful sea views from this bedroom. Situated at the back of the house you will be opening your curtains to sea views and beautiful sunrises. All bedrooms have blackout curtains so if you’re not keen on the early sunrise waking you up you’ve no need to worry.
Twin Room - Also situated at the back of the house this room contains 2 single beds. Kids and adults alike will also be waking up to sea views across the bay from this room. And with blackout curtains maybe the kids will sleep that little longer in the mornings.
Dressing Room - A multi use room with a vanity desk that can be used to get yourself ready for the day ahead. On a working holiday? Use this space as an office during your stay. There is also a hanging rail for the upstairs bedroom guests to hang their clothes. We provide a hairdryer so it is boneless thing to bring with you.
The Garden
Number Forty Two has a large garden with the most gorgeous sea views. Why not open up the large patio doors in the kitchen and sit and enjoy your breakfast el fresco on the patio. Or take that dinner right up to the the back of the garden on the raised area to take in even more views of the sea. There is also a grassed area with a whirly bird dryer or for the kids to run about on. We also have a letter box containing rock pool nets, fishing rods, crabbing nets and bucket and spades for a day at the beach or harbour.
Parking
Number Forty Two has its own drive way and parking is available for up to 2 cars. Please be courteous to other neighbours and avoid parking in front of driveways etc.
What’s not provided
Young children are more than welcome to come their holidays to Number Forty Two. Unfortunately we do not provide a cot, so you will need to bring your own. A high chair is provided if needed. Please request this prior to your arrival. We also have a small selection of toys and books for younger children.
The Area
There is so much to see and do in the area. From visiting one of the many beautiful beaches in Aberdeenshire & Moray (we provide buckets and spades at Number Forty Two) to the many walks and hikes along the coast or inland. A favourite of ours is visiting Findlater Castle between Sandend and Cullen and walking further out to the secluded beach of Sunnyside. With Portsoy being situated in Whiskey Country there are also so many Distilleries to visit and sample their delights.
