"This small and charming hotel sits high upon the hill, overlooking a nearby village and the Oliphant Tea Factory. It's a quiet location, with stunning rooms - which is a welcome change if you're staying mostly in guest houses or big resorts. The staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect, and the sounds and smells of nature were great - if you like the sound of birds chirping, this is a place for you. There's one tree with tons of them (they said 1,000 but I couldn't wrap my...

"Excellent stay, the best we had in Sri Lanka! Beautiful, modern, and well thought out villa, with tons of space. Wonderfully modern bathroom on top. Great view over the tea plantations. Staff are so friendly, brought us dinner from a restaurant and then a delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend!"

"We stayed 4 nights at Walaa Kulu, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The villa is truly luxurious, beautifully furnished, and designed to take full advantage of the stunning panoramic views that surround it. Every room offers a breathtaking outlook — the kind that photos simply cannot capture. The heated pool overlooking the lush green hills was an absolute highlight, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing evening swim even when the air cooled down.

"This hotel has up side and quite a bit down sides.
The big up side is the breathtaking view and the perfect staff (Gadjen).
The down sides are both the fact that in order to go to Ella you must take a tuktuk.
The owner taking advantage of the hotel isolation from the city and chrges unusually expensive rate for
breakfast, whuch we were not informed in advance. 2 family breakfast cost as much as a night's stay in the hotel."

"A Peaceful Home Away From Home
Our family absolutely loved our stay at Tathya Hills Luxury Retreat. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a true home away from home. Nestled in the hills just a short drive from the town centre and Lovers Leap Waterfall, the property offers a peaceful escape surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Our family room was spotless, modern, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for our family of four. The bathroom was well-appointed, and the heater kept the room warm and comfortable during the cooler evenings.
Breakfast was served promptly each morning at our requested time and included a simple but satisfying cooked breakfast with toast, jams, tea, and coffee.
What really made our stay special was the exceptional hospitality. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always available to help, offering great recommendations on local attractions and places to visit.
We also enjoyed spending time in the shared living area, which provided a relaxing space to unwind, with books to read, games to play, and comfortable seating.
I would highly recommend Tathya Hills Luxury Retreat to anyone seeking a quiet, relaxing getaway away from the hustle and bustle of town and the standard hotel experience. It’s a wonderful place to slow down, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of the area."
"Amazing place. Can’t fault a single thing. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and it was amazing. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Always ready to help with a buggy. Spa was amazing in a very scenic set up. Secluded yet just a few mins drive to main city centre. Pool area is nice but the pool is rather small. Breakfast is very good, made to order. Complimentary guided trek to little Adams peak just behind the resort. They gave discount vouchers for Ravana pool club and zip lining but we didn’t have time to try. Overall fully recommend."
"The staff were the highlight of the stay! They were so kind and dedicated and took very good care of us! The hotel was good but I would just go back for the customer service, absolutely amazing!!!!"
