Had a lovely overnight stay. Staff were really friendly and exceptionally helpful. A really beautiful old building. Buffet breakfast was good. Had a very pleasant evening meal there too. Grounds were delightful. Stayed in one of their suites. Really spacious.

We had a lovely room in main building, staff are so helpful & friendly, everyone has a smile on their face. Lovely cooked breakfast which set us up each day on our short stay. It's a great base to visit the surrounding areas.

Easy to find and fantastic big car park at the back of the hotel which was included in the price of our stay. Lovely warm room, comfortable bed and great shower. There was a good breakfast selection but staff didn’t interact with customers and didn’t clear our table once during our 2 day stay. I hate dirty pots around me!! Also no conversation with restaurant staff about alternatives for breakfast as only had fried eggs on offer at self selection. I asked for poached eggs and it took them over 20 mins to bring them to me. I asked twice how long they would be and was told there is a bit of a delay with my order as quite a few people had ordered them. Not sure why as it only takes a couple of mins to cook these!! Also hot food options were empty and had to keep asking for things which was a bit annoying. Overall our stay was okay and I would stay again.

Within walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants so perfect location with free parking. We stayed in a very comfortable suite lots of space to relax and lovely view over the garden. Very quiet at night and a good selection of food for breakfast hot and cold. Will definitely stay again.

A lovely hotel, centrally located in Banbury. The hotel Inc reception, corridors and rooms were immaculate and fresh. Parking was readily available and free. We opted for the buffet breakfast option which was excellent value. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. I totally recommend this hotel

Staff were very attentive, food was excellent and our room was great except the squeaky floors but in a very old house you expect that. Our bed was extremely comfortable and clean, we also got an upgrade so that was very nice. The only issue was ( and it’s not very nice to talk about) that there wasn’t a toilet brush in our bathroom and even though I asked for one it never arrived, this was our only issue but it did spoil it a bit for us.

Rooms had been renovated but if staying in the garden view part- it’s not part of the main mansion. Our garden view overlooked the car park- but the room was nice. Due to the ongoing works you would need to go outside to a separate building. Receptionist very friendly as were the bar staff. Only thing is they close the bar a little early which is a shame. The Horton bar did open for the rugby but smelled of sewage. The location is perfect, ample parking at the back.

Staff welcoming, professional and helpful, the main areas are lovely and relaxing, had pizza one evening and was very good, dining areas nice, and breakfast was alright, buffet style and enough options. Sadly the room had extensive previous water damage to the ceiling, 2 single beds put together which had mattresses at different levels made for an interesting king size bed, no mattress or pillow protectors on the bed either. A shame really as with a few tweaks would be a lovely room. Would stay again but probably request one of the rooms that has already undergone renovation.

The room was comfortable. But unfortunately the radiator was making loud noises that woke me up all through the night. It started around 1am and continued until 4 am meaning I got very little sleep. There was no phone or any means to call to reception, which was a long walk away. The hotel refunded me 50% of my booking cost, which I appreciated but I would have preferred 100% refund and would not have left an unsatisfactory review had they refunded me.

i booked last minute and asked to upgrade my room when i arrived. i was upgradedf for free for which i was bery grateful. The room was a double suite. very clean, very comfortable bed and enouous shower. couldnt fault it

I stayed at Whately Hall with my wife and two year old because of its proximity to the annual tractor parade, something we look forward to every year. I booked a two bedroom room for close to £200, expecting a comfortable and family friendly stay. Two days before arrival, we were warned that Christmas parties would be taking place. We immediately asked to be placed as far away from the noise as possible, given we were travelling with a young child. Despite this, our room was clearly positioned where noise would be an issue. What followed was one of the worst hotel nights we have had. Loud music, shouting, and groups of people standing in the courtyard talking and screaming continued well past midnight, finally stopping around 1am. The courtyard acts like an echo chamber, amplifying the noise straight into the rooms. Our son was awake for most of the night, distressed and overtired, which anyone with a toddler will appreciate is not something you can simply ignore. We complained during the night, repeatedly, yet nothing was done. There was no attempt to control guests, no staff presence to manage the situation, and no restrictions on people congregating outside. While I understand that Christmas parties happen, there should be basic controls in place, especially in a ho
