"We had a very relaxing stay. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Added touches - they provide bathrobes and left delicious chocolate treats in the fridge for us to enjoy. Which we did while sitting out on small patio outside our room overlooking the lake.
Our afternoon drink on the pub patio was great - we loved listening the 90’s playlist while we supped local craft beer. Our supper in the dining room was excellent.
Only complaint is that there were a Lot of Canada Geese on grassy area leading down to the small beach area. Had to be careful where you stepped!! That’s living in Canada where we have to share some outdoor space with the wildlife!"
"I have no issue with hotel rooms with run down, tacky furniture - especially when the price is right - but there is no excuse for the room being dirty. Although the hosts were friendly, they need to change how they clean. And if they can’t get the gross dirt off the cabinets and furniture - replace it! If we weren’t just using the room to sleep, I would have left and found a way to seek my money back from Expedia. At least sheets were fresh and soft. I just didn’t enjoy the feeling that I needed to keep my shoes on when walking around the room. And I definitely did not use any of the drawers and cupboards to unpack my belongings."
"Very occasionally you come across a special place that will stay with you forever. Saucy Willow is that. Beautiful setting and gardens, house that is tastefully and lovingly renovated. The rooms are great, super comfy beds, powerful shower, fridge. Breakfast was plentiful and filled us up (thanks Dave for packaging scones for us to take away).
All the small touches show the care that Stephanie and Dave have for their guests - a fire by the river in the evening, beach towels for after swimming, ear plugs for light sleepers (the only noise is that of the countryside), a game of scrabble in the lounge.
We cannot recommend the Saucy Willow enough - we will be back."
"We had an absolutely amazing stay! The cottage is beautiful, perfectly located right on the waterfront, and incredibly clean and tidy. Becky was a wonderful, communicative host who made everything seamless. We would definitely love to come back again soon. Highly recommend!"
"We had a very disappointing experience at Parkview Cottages Resort. The cottage was not properly cleaned upon arrival. there was hair all over the place, bugs inside.
Since my wife is 31 weeks pregnant, cleanliness and comfort were extremely important for us. We politely requested if a cleaner could come the next morning, but instead the owner reacted very rudely and asked us to vacate the property immediately around 10 PM.
Because of the situation and the stress it caused, we decided to leave and drive back home late at night. Later, the owner did call and apologize, mentioning she was under stress, but the overall experience had already become very upsetting and uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, this was not the relaxing stay we had planned, and I would not recommend this property based on our experience."
Cozy Waterfront Cottage with Sauna/BBQ/Pool/Wifi/Tea House
10/10 Excellent
"Loved our stay! Amazing big yard with beautiful scenery. The private dock and boat access were such peaceful. The house was very clean, cozy, and full of charm, with thoughtful touches everywhere.Well-equipped kitchen, clean bathroom, extra towels and linens, and plenty of amenities like a sauna, BBQ, pool, tea room, garden, firepit, and even a veggie patch. The host was super friendly and easy to talk to. The place is also close to the town and beach, which made exploring really convenient. Recommend!"
"We had a beautiful stay! The cottage is clean, comfortable and well situated to enjoy the lake view from your muskoka chairs on the waterfront deck. Karen and Stew are excellent hosts who have anticipated their guests' every need. We appreciated all the small touches such as coffee and snacks. The kitchen is well supplied and very functional. We were cozy and warm here during a beautiful fall weekend. And there's lots to do see and do in the surrounding area. We'll be returning."
