Not clean

Main toilet very dirty. Hair in bathtub before we even took showers. Floors dirty. Bugs everywhere in kitchen. Bugs in master bedroom. Toaster doesn’t work well. I think we should be compensated for this. Not what we expected for our first visit to Bald Head Island. My number is 724-822-3020 if anyone wants further information.

Bugs and dirty

There were other peoples clothes under the bed. Stained very old carpet in the bedroom. Kitchen cabinets are old in poor condition. And tons of roaches. Vacuum cleaner was broken. They promptly brought another one. The cleaning person didn’t finish till 4:15. Bikes were rusty and old and tire was almost flat there was no tire pump

Great for a small family

This was a great place for us and our two teenagers. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. It was stocked with enough items to get us through a long weekend. The golf card was a fun way to get around the island.

Beautiful island but average accommodations

We come to Bald Head every year for a family vacation because it’s such a unique and special place. This year we booked late so options were limited and this Royal James unit was available. The complex is very old located in the center of the island in the woods. Our unit was outdated with cabinets that were hard to open or close and the aged bathroom faucets, etc. The loft was hard to cool down but fans were provided. The linens were nice and kitchen was well stocked. Most bothersome was the filthy master bedroom carpet and living room ceiling fan.

Convenient place

We needed an extra place nearby for son & grandchildren and this fit the bill. He says there were a few minor issues like missing buttons on washer/dryer. Very little cooking & eating were done there as they spent most of the day here. He did plan to cook bacon one morning but could only find a small skillet. But he said he was more than satisfied with the place. I, personally, found the management extremely easy to deal with. Thanks so much.

Easy & Comfortable Stay!

We'd love this option on BHI. This was a perfect 3 night weekend -- we could not have asked for anything more. Beds were cozy, loft was easy and the porches were perfect.

3 nights of sanity!

We needed a quick unique getaway and BHI was wonderful! The condo was perfect for our family of four. Having access to the golf cart was great - we didn't have to rent one! If I had to give critical feedback, the only thing that I would update are the TVs and the broken kitchen cabinets....however, this will not prevent us from renting again! It was a great location and perfect for us!

The 3rd “bedroom” is a very high loft - too dangerous for the young or old. Dishwasher was hard to start. The doors on bathtub were stuck. Everything needs a little TLC.

To Vrbo: there is no way to un-link the rating to BHI! Obviously, you do not want my review to be posted on your site. I would have presented a more inclusive review (submitted to BHI) if Vrbo offered the space to do so. Shame on you. "owner is milking the investment without putting anything back. everything is dated and not up to rental standards.(we've rented for years) strongly recommend you drop this listing." even the golf cart has cobwebs!

Tidy but missing key items

Condo was inexpensive. One golf cart for a condo sleeping 8 is not normal. Cookware was marginal at best. Dryer was not functioning. I owned a unit in this complex so I know what a nice unit looks like. This unit is marginal. That sums it up.

Escape

This condo was as listed. Very basic but would be fine to stay here again. The location on the island is great and the neighborhood was very quiet.

Nice accommodations and responsive staff. Needed some cleaning after we arrived and some small maintenance issues but overall convenient and pleasant.

Very nice!

The property is just as advertised. The apartment was in great condition and had two very nice outdoor spaces to enjoy. During my stay, I felt safe and the apartment was clean upon arrival. I appreciated prompt responses from Brandy when I had questions with arrival and using the tram/ferry. Thank you for a great stay!
