"This property is beautiful, however be aware that you need to pay for every little thing once on site. If you run out of soap, dishwasher pods, want clean towels, or in our case, need more toilet paper, it all costs extra. I don’t mind having to pay for some things, but I’ve never been asked to pay for toilet paper anywhere else in the world and I have to say, it slightly soured my experience. "We enjoyed staying at this resort. We stayed in one of the larger rooms in the main lodge. The place was huge! One bathroom, washer/dryer, two beds, a living room, kitchen and a perfect balcony with a view of the lake and mountains. We stayed only two nights and didn't use the kitchen, but we can see this would be a great place to stay for a while. "The hotel room was spacious with balcony, with view of the forest. However, there was no hot water for showering on the night we arrived. It was at 8:30 pm, so I went to the reception desk since the letter that we were given during check in earlier that night stated that the front desk was staffed till 9:00 pm. There was nobody there. We called their service number and spoke with the lady owner who said that they would send their "colleague" who lived in the building that night. Nobody came. We sent an email that night, as well. The next morning, we spoke with the receptionist who already knew about the issue before I could explain to her. She was apologetic and said that the maintenance person never answered their call last night, but responded that morning, saying that he would come that day. We asked if we could move to a different room, but she said that there was no other available room, eventhough the other rooms were still available since she was expecting other guests to be checking in later that day. The receptionist was the same person during our entire stay. Although nice and professional, she was not local and admitted that she was just covering for the holiday and knew little about the area, especially the ski condition. However, she mentioned that for the past 5 years, there had been no snow during the month of December. "

"The staff were amazing as was eveything about this Hotel. From the spectacular views to the walks surrounding it, it was amazing. Our room / apartment was huge and spacious with a wrap around balcony. If we had any criticisms it would be the pillows were slighty uncomfortable and that my wife did struggle with some food choices being Gluten and Dairy free (this seems to be the case throughtout Austria though). But the food we all did have was fantastic."

"We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean, and we appreciated the variety of food offered at the complimentary breakfast. The staff were friendly and accommodating — as we needed to check out early on the last day, we asked if we could have breakfast on the check-in day instead, and they were happy to arrange this for us. The hotel has a hostel-style setup, with shared facilities such as a refrigerator, kettle, and can opener. Reception closes at 3:00pm. The location is convenient, as it is close to Steeg-Gosau train station, making it easy for travellers heading to Hallstatt by train (Steeg-Gosau is just one stop from Hallstatt). The cost is much lower than the accommodations in Hallstatt, so we really recommend it to anyone who would like to visit the place!"
