We enjoyed our stay, our hosts were very welcoming and we had excellent meals dinner and breakfast. Just outside the door ocean views and the sunset lodge is highly recommended

We were given an unexpected room upgrade from one triple to two ocean view rooms on arrival. The delicious dinners were offered on the covered patio overlooking the extensive flowering gardens and the ocean before our hosts treated us to an amphibious beach buggy ride at sunset. We finished the day relaxing in the hot tub. Wonderful day. They made it so easy to include everything they offered. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Awatuna resort was spectacular! Elizabeth and Selwyn were so kind and accommodating. The resort is such a unique B&B as they offer amazing home cooked meals, beach tours in an Argo, beach views and cocktail hour on the deck!

A place that exceeded our expections,Soon as we arrived we were welcomed with a beautiful greeting from Elizabeth followed closely by a cold beverage .They genuinely do care about their guests.from the homemade food to the adventure on Radar with Selwyn..Beautiful scenery and a great couples getaway without any children to disturb you.Highly Recommended. Welcoming, charming, and a stay to remember!

What a treat! Elizabeth and Selwyn were exceptional hosts. When asked, yes you want to ride Radar. To say we were treated like family is an understatement -- the kindness and hospitality is second to none. A few of our favorite moments included: patio welcome drinks, evening hot tub time, feeding the chickens, and of course breakfast made to order. My only regret was not staying a second night due to our travel plans. BOOK THIS NOW!

Didn’t realize this place was a B&B until we were greeted by Elizabeth and Selwyn. They welcomed us and offered snacks and wine. As we didn’t know about there being no official restaurant on premises, provided us with an excellent lasagna and salad dinner. (with more wine). Room was beautiful and on the ocean just a few steps from the water. Breakfast was also great and more than we could finish. We would recommend the Awatuna Sunset Lodge to anyone traveling in this area.

Truly heaven on earth

Don’t even know where to begin! Probably the best stay of our lives. After travelling around NZ from the UK this place was a slice of heaven. We were greeted warmly and told we were just in time for sunset - served Canapés and a beer on the beautiful terrace as the sun went down. A dip in the lovely hot tub, an insanely comfy bed for a wonderful nights sleep and then a freshly cooked home made breakfast. Plus travel tips and friendly-ness galore. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough - perfect hosts in paradise.

Elizabeth and Selwyn know how to treat a guest. Nothing was a problem and always keen for a chat. We went to the Wild Foods and Selwyn dropped us off and picked us up...that is above and beyond. No extra charge either. Great coffee btw. Thanks again.

A Hidden Gem

This could not have been anymore amazing than it was! A beautiful room with a veranda overlooking the sea. Elizabeth and Selwyn are the perfect hosts, a welcome drink and canapés on arrival with other guests was unexpected and lovely. Breakfast was also excellent with a great selection. Although only small and a few kms out of town, do not miss this exceptional accommodation.

Better than best!

We can highly recommend Awatuna Sunset Lodge! It has three very nice newrennovated doublerooms. Everything in the lodge is brandnew, very clean and good looking. Sitting at the terrass overlooking the garden and the sea is a pleasure. The breakfast was really good and much more than we expected. We will like to come back there if we could!!
