"The house itself was laid out very well, and my group appreciated that it had adult beds in every room. The kitchen was a nice size and decently equipped, although there was some kind of decoration on every counter, which did take up a lot of counter space. There were a lot of throw pillows on all the beds and couches, which made it a little awkward when trying to relax, as the only place to put them was the floor. We had a great time, but the house is VERY close to train tracks and a switchyard. We stayed 5 nights, and were woken up by trains at around 4:30 am on 2 of those nights. It didn't ruin our trip as we were mostly able to go back to sleep, but it definitely made for a couple of rough mornings. Lastly, there were lots of rugs that were not stuck down very well. We slipped on them so much the first night that we ended up taking a lot of them off the floor while we were staying there. Overall, there were some negatives, but the house felt very welcoming and inviting. It was also very close to downtown New Bern and the convention center, which was perfect for us. "
