"My husband and I spent 10 weeks at Talavera while looking for a home in Salem. It was a fantastic home base with all the amenities we needed. Walking distance to historic downtown and Safeway and cute neighborhoods for evening strolls (watch out for bunnies!) The established neighbors in the building were lovely and the host of the property was always accessible and took care of any concerns quickly. "Parking is kind of a pain, or an added expense using the valet. You either have to pay for street parking each day, or pay a nominal fee for parking permits for the garage across and down the street. The restaurant was great, but when we come it is always busy. They do not take reservations for small parties and they did not answer the phone one night when I tried to call. But the food is amazing."
