Apartment 19 is all about light, simplicity, and effortless days by the beach. The living area opens to wide windows that frame soft views across the landscaped grounds toward the water. Morning sun reaches the lounge and dining space, keeping the apartment warm and inviting without feeling enclosed.
The layout is straightforward and practical. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area sits at the front of the apartment, with the two bedrooms set quietly toward the rear for privacy. The kitchen includes full-size appliances, generous bench space, and everything needed for preparing easy meals at home.
The lounge is arranged for relaxed downtime after the beach, with comfortable seating and a clear outlook across the grounds. Glass doors lead to the balcony, where guests can sit with a drink, enjoy the late afternoon light, or listen to the waves across the bay.
Both bedrooms are well sized. The master has a king bed and warm natural light. The second bedroom has a king bed that can be split into singles on request, making the apartment suitable for couples, small families, or friends travelling together. Two bathrooms keep morning routines simple.
Guests have access to shared gas BBQs located in the landscaped common area, a useful addition for easy summer dinners.

Guest Access:
Self check-in is available. Guests have full access to Apartment 19 and the shared outdoor BBQ area at The Sands. Parking is available onsite. Early check-ins and late check-outs may be possible on request; confirmation depends on bookings before and after your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Apartment 19 sits at the quieter end of Onetangi Beach, with a flat walk along the sand to local cafés and beachside restaurants.
For breakfast or coffee, Charlie Farley’s and the Beach Store Waiheke are close by for relaxed mornings by the water. Lunchtime options include Three Seven Two, a popular beachfront bistro, and The Heke, a casual modern grill and brewery a short drive away. For dinner, guests can choose from Ki Māha for refined beachfront dining or Casita Miro for Spanish-inspired shared plates overlooking the vineyards.
Nearby wineries include Tantalus Estate and Obsidian Vineyard, both an easy drive from the apartment and offering tastings and vineyard dining.
Getting Around:
The nearest bus stop is on Fourth Avenue / The Strand, offering easy access to Oneroa, Onetangi restaurants, and the wider island. Local buses stop at all major wineries, making vineyard visits simple without a car. Taxis, hire cars, scooters, and e-bikes are also available on the island. Parking is provided at the property.

The Sands operates on rainwater tanks, so guests must be mindful of water use, especially in summer.
There is no smoking inside the apartment or on the balconies. External smoke detectors are fitted, and any Fire Brigade call-out will incur a $5,000 fee charged to the guest. Smoking is permitted only in the designated picnic area.
