Classic 'Kiwiana' bach set in bush above Matheson Bay, Leigh. Private and sunny, surrounded by native bush and bird life with view of sea and Coromandel Peninsula. A few minutes walk down to safe, swimming beach with good snorkelling/ diving. Perfect retreat in all seasons - open the doors to let the summer breeze flow or snuggle up with woodburner to create cosy 'bolthole'. A 1970s bach ideally suited to small families or couples within an hour's drive from Auckland. Visit the nearby Leigh township, Sawmill cafe, Goat Island, or Pakiri. Omaha Beach, Tawharanui Regional Park and the Matakana Coast wineries are a short drive away along with Matakana village with its market, restaurants, shops and cinemas. Games, books/mags, kids toys, and dvds to keep you or the children amused.

Charming, classic Kiwi Bach. Everything we needed for our little break away from home. Our older kids loved the DVDs and board games and our youngest loved how he had so much nature around him and being able to see so many native birds. Had everything we needed, very retro but we liked it that way.

Beautifully situated in the regenerating Kauri forest where Kaka birds make your evening meals on the deck a memorable. A quintessential kiwi batch experience where there is beauty and peace found in simplicity.

Private quiet weekend close to coast

We spent Labour Weekend in this very comfy bach surrounded by native bush and birds. Lovely walk down to Matheson Bay, and car trips in the wider area. Lovely deck for meals and coffees. Great communication with host. Thanks for an awesome stay

Cute Bach with Seaviews

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute bach near Matheson Bay. It was comfortable and well-equipped and had a very homey feel. Loved the sea views from the deck and the birdsong in the bush.

We had a lovely stay here! The surrounding nature is beautiful and you can see the ocean through the trees from the balcony. One of the bedrooms is really for kids but we spent most of the time outside anyway.

Absolutely wonderful accommodation, cosy, clean and comfortable - exactly what we needed for a short break. Great location, beach a short walk away and a lovely waterfall / bush walk even closer. Nice decking area with easy access, surrounded by bush and with a great view of the sea.
