Charming property with great charm and character in the middle of a beautiful village. We came for a wedding at the Abbey, which was steps away from the hotel. We had a clean room with a comfortable bed and separate toilet and shower room. Bathroom was basic but clean and the room rates are extremely reasonable, especially considering it was high season. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is excellent and we were very glad to have it, as there are not many dining options in Aubazines. We did not try eating at the restaurant on site, as all our dining was with family elsewhere, but be aware that everything is closed on Sunday evenings, save for a pizza can that may show up on the square.
There is parking available, but it is hard to find behind the hotel and awkward to access the hotel from, with a lot of rough steps and uneven ground, so not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. It was very hot during our stay and old properties like this have no AC. A standing fan was thoughtfully provided and much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.
