About this property

Welcome to 'The Log Cab-Inn' - Where Great Memories Are Made

  • We are a destination spot for snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, four-wheeling, hiking, biking, and year-round vacations. This evergreen retreat is a new (2007) handcrafted log cabin, with three floors and three wrap around outside decks. There's a large mud room with in floor heat to dry out all your outdoor gear. The Cabin is located on 15 acres, with plenty of parking room. It backs up to an all purpose trail (North Freda, Trail #121-ATV/snowmobile trail.)

Were only 5 miles outside of Houghton MI, off of a blacktop road, but this is where the blacktop ends. There are only woods & rivers for eight miles until you reach Lake Superior. This setting will let you enjoy the outdoors right out of your door.

Call or e-mail for more details or visit our website. From there you can check out what our area has to offer. The National Weather Channel rates the Upper Peninsula of Michigan as No. 6 in its top-10 list of Winter Family Get-ways.

Nice location yet very remote

A great location to visit our son who lives in Hancock. Easy to get to Walmart for shopping. Can walk on nearby trails close to cabin and feel totally lost in nature. Beautiful surroundings. Love bringing our little dog too.

Cozy and private

We stayed in mid May, 2024, guests were myself, my wife, and our dog. This cabin was fantastic for our trip to the Keweenaw peninsula. It feels very private, you have tons of space, the property is gorgeous, and it's an easy drive into town for meals in the evening or supplies. The sauna was a particular treat! We really enjoyed staying here and would absolutely stay again if we're ever back in the area!
