Welcome to Athens, the vibrant capital city of Greece located in the region of Attica. Athens is a city steeped in rich history and culture, offering a myriad of attractions and experiences to visitors from around the world. Known as the birthplace of democracy and the cradle of Western civilization, this ancient city is a treasure trove of archaeological wonders, magnificent landmarks, and a lively contemporary scene.
One of the highlights of Athens is its extensive public transportation system, which allows visitors to explore the city and its surrounding areas with ease. The Athens Metro is the fastest and most convenient mode of transportation, consisting of three lines that connect to tram lines, bus routes, and the suburban railway. The metro operates from 5 am to midnight, with extended hours on weekends, ensuring easy access to key areas and attractions. Line 1, also known as ISAP, is an overground train that connects the northern suburb of Kifissia to the port of Piraeus, intersecting with lines 2 and 3 at three stations. This efficient transportation network allows travelers to navigate Athens and discover its iconic landmarks, such as the Acropolis, the Parthenon, and the ancient Agora.
For those arriving by air, Athens is serviced by the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, located approximately 32 kilometers from the city center. The airport offers various transportation options to reach the city, including the metro, buses, and taxis. The metro line 3 provides a direct connection from the airport to central Athens, ensuring a hassle-free journey for travelers. Buses also operate between the airport and different areas of Athens, providing a convenient alternative. Taxis are readily available outside the airport, offering a comfortable and efficient way to reach your destination.
In addition to its well-connected transportation system, Athens boasts a strategic location with access to a major port. Piraeus Port, located just a short distance from the city center, serves as the gateway to the Greek islands and other Mediterranean destinations. Ferries and hydrofoils operate from Piraeus, offering travelers the opportunity to explore popular island destinations such as Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete. The port is easily accessible by public transportation, including the metro and buses, ensuring seamless connectivity for island hopping adventures.
As you immerse yourself in the vibrant city of Athens, you'll discover a wealth of cultural, culinary, and recreational delights. The city is home to world-class museums, including the Acropolis Museum, the National Archaeological Museum, and the Benaki Museum, where you can marvel at ancient artifacts and admire timeless artworks. Explore the bustling markets of Monastiraki and Plaka, where you can indulge in traditional Greek delicacies and shop for souvenirs. Take a leisurely stroll through the charming neighborhoods of Kolonaki, Psirri, and Exarcheia, each offering its own unique character and ambiance.

Other Things to Note:
We would like to inform you about an important regulation mandated by the Greek government. From April to October, all guests are required by law to pay an Environmental Fee. This fee cannot be included in the booking price and must be collected separately before arrival, as stipulated by the Greek authorities.
The fee is:
€8 per night for apartments
€15 per night for villas
Please note:
This amount is not a charge from us, and we do not profit from it in any way.
Once we collect this fee, we pay it in full directly to the government as a tax.
Unfortunately, we are not allowed to waive, reduce, or absorb this fee, no matter the circumstances.
Payment is required before check-in, as per Greek law.
We completely understand this might be frustrating, and we sincerely wish we could make it easier for you. However, we are legally obligated to comply, and without this payment, check-in is not permitted.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Should you have any questions or need assistance with the payment process, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards.
