"Excellent communication from host & easy check in with key lock. Room was spacious & comfortable for our family of 4. The only negative was that we hadn’t realised that bathroom would be downstairs, which resulted in the kids being a bit anxious about going on their own, as it’s a shared house and they weren’t comfortable wandering around the house on their own with strangers. Not a problem for the adults, but the kids weren’t comfortable. "

"The property itself was spotless. I didn't see a speck of dust. It is obviously cleaned pretty much daily. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was good. The kitchen was clean and had everything you needed. I would add some baking trays and oven gloves but apart from that it was great! The bedroom was clean and tidy. "Cottons is a corporate style hotel with friendly staff. Proximity to Manchester Airport is a bonus. It's a pity that breakfast is now entirely self service but the food is good quality and freshly made. The restaurant offers good food and service but is a little too pricy. Parking is convenient and plentiful."

"One of my favourite things about this hotel is the amazing staff that are on reception. Every single time I stay, I’m welcomed with such warmth and kindness. I was welcomed by a really lovely lady last time, Anna. Nothing was too much trouble, happy, kind, helpful. Thank you Anna, I really appreciate you. Always the same feeling here, that is really good to have when you’re a solo traveller. Also with regard to the amazing staff, the man that greets you outside is also kind, helpful, happy, just lovely. He helps me with all my luggage every single time without fail. Doubletree, you have a fantastic team, so hope they get the recognition they truly deserve. A big thank you from me!"

"The hotel is ideally located to enjoy the best of Buxton. It is beautifully decorated, with a real sense of luxury. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfy. Staff were helpful and polite. My only disappointment was the breakfast service and in all truth this was completely unacceptable. It was apparent that the kitchen and service was heavily understaffed, which impacted upon the cleanliness, insufficient stocks on the buffet service and delays serving food. Most people had a 45min delay for hot breakfast, and this resulted in us and a number of other guests requesting refunds. The serving staff were very apologetic and just looked worn out and embarrassed."
