Black Bear Den ~ Access to Private Lake! Heat and AC

  • Welcome to our Black Bear Den! This is a quaint cabin off the main road in Blue Lake Springs, close to Fly-In Acres Lake. This cozy cabin in the woods is newly renovated with all new flooring and paint and is great for a quick getaway or family retreat. The cabin is plenty big enough for larger groups and there are tons of activities available in the nearby area.

    *Club house & pool available to our guests! $20/person with guest card. Fly-In Lake scheduled to open Memorial Day Weekend!

Great cabin in Blue Lake.

Our family had a wonderful stay in the mountains. The cabin was as described, host very communicative, and great location.

Cozy cabin.

Great cabin! The bedrooms are very spacious with comfortable beds. Owner does have to go on and fix the shower head and the tv upstairs. Besides that, everything is great.

Nice cabin close to Arnold and Bear Valley

My two kids and dog stayed in this cabin for two nights. It was easy to find and located very close to local snow activity areas. The cabin was quite spacious, we only needed one floor, but it could easily accommodate more people. The kitchen had all the necessary basics. There was a nice hill on the side for sledding and the heating system worked well. We especially enjoyed the large kitchen table. Host was quick to reply to a message I sent.

We had a great time!

Black Bear is a very nice cabin. We were all very pleased and enjoyed it tremendously. The cabin is clean and comfortable. The amenities are all there. Access to the Lake (which is a big deal). Everything you need is there. WiFi is excellent, TV and multiple streaming services available. The decor has a fun vibe (wild mushroom hunting) is all around. Beds are comfortable and the master has its own air conditioning. Kitchen has lots of utensils and other things for cooking, big new toaster, microwave and a large coffee maker. No dishwasher, but that’s not a huge issue for me. It gets warm in the summer and there are a few fans and an in wall air conditioner that really cools the main living area. Small but works like a champ. Deck is nice, didn’t use the bbq, but it’s there. You might want to have some lawn chairs if you are having a few people over. It’s not a huge place, but the four of us were comfortable in the main living area. Great value and we enjoyed it!

This cabin was the perfect little weekend getaway destination for going to Big Trees and the nearby reservoir. The host was just a call away but was so thorough with instructions that we didn't need to contact for help. We did see a brown bear right outside the cabin at one point so beware! But other than that great affordable place

Our stay

The house is super cute, great location, quiet peaceful neighborhood in the woods! The only thing was the house was not very clean dust and cobwebs on the bedrooms, the door knobs were sticky, but otherwise a super cute place.

Cabin getaway

Me and 7 friends stayed two nights and it was perfect! There was snow on the ground and the fire was toasty. The cabin is a great size for it to feel homey and comfortable without feeling squished.

Winter Wonderland

Black Bear Den is cozy and comfy. Brand new floors, carpet, decorations and plenty, plenty of beds. We happened to be there during a Winter Wonderland. We highly recommended renting snow shoes and trekking down the pristine and quiet trail at Spicer Snow Park. The cabin had everything we needed and we would stay there again!

Great quiet place to stay!

Everything was excellent and process was easy. Only little "complaint" was that the cooking pans/trays were a bit under cleaned.... No big deal as there was plenty of dish soap and we did the next group who stays there a favor and cleaned them up to a sparkle! Would not hesitate to stay here again and again!!

Cozy comfortable place. Could have used a few washcloths as there was only body wash soap available. Probably just an oversight. Loved staying there.
