「We were walking the Pennine Way and stopped off at Bongate House after reaching Dufton and after walking/backpacking for most of the day. We had a very friendly welcome from Ann who on arrival looked after our every need. Breakfast was ample and tasty. The property suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Ann!」

「Lovely house with fab view of the Eden Valley.」

「This has to be the craziest room I've ever stayed in, in a good way. The floors were sloped the furniture was sloping in line with the floors. Bed comfy amd bathroom was nice and clean. If you are after a quirky stay then this place is for you.」

「The room was gorgeous and Sue is the kindest person. Lots of attention to detail and the little things that make your stay special. One issue was low water pressure in the shower due to a temperamental electric device that runs the shower head.」

「Beautifully decorated hotel with excellent food and helpful pleasant staff.」

「Very clean and comfortable stay. The shower rooms was very clean. I was particularly impressed with the English Breakfast. The quantity and taste are very satisfying.」

「This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners. 「Highly recommended. Comfortable hotel. Fine breakfast. Helpful staffs. Excellent location near the motor way. Has a shop (drink, food, etc), a cafeteria and a petrol station attached in a walking distance.

「We just loved our stay here at Augill Castle. It was like being in a movie. Quirky and charming, beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed wine in the sitting room, a lovely dinner and breakfast. Our room was so beautiful, a very comfortable bed, and the hosts and staff were all so lovely. A very memorable stay!」

「Top Accommondation!」

「The room was lovely & comfortable. The Evening meal was delicious. The only thing that let us down was the breakfast. It didn’t seem to be freshly cooked and wasn’t very hot & not very well cooked. A shame. If we stay again we will not pay extra for the breakfast.」

「We had an amazing stay at the hotel! The room was beautiful and the food there was amazing!!」

「Lovely location right on the reservoir. Staff were all so friendly and accommodating. Food was beyond expectations and everyone was really impressed with dinner and breakfast.」
