Beautiful property, with excellent amenities, tasteful & minimal design
Great property on a small mountain with a spectacular seafront view of Andros, some of the small islands and the port. Very tasteful and thoughtful design - very minimal and composed mostly of wood, stone, and metal, so it has a natural elegance. The units private outdoor space is perfect, multiple seating areas for lounging, dining (the chairs are a little low for the dining table, but you can use extra cushions to boost them up if you don't have a full house), sunbathing, and of course the infinity pool with rainshower.
The interior design is equally tasteful with all tools available for cooking your own meals, should you wish to do so - you will however have to purchase all the cooking supplies yourself from one of the markets in town. We stayed at the property in 2nd half of September, and experienced beautiful weather, but could easily see how the unit could become to warm during peak summer months due to the lack of air conditioning.
We had a few small issues with the property, which may affect your stay depending on how you roll. First, you absolutely must have a vehicle to get around Andros, and the driveway to the property is EXTREMELY steep, angled at more than 45 degrees and backing onto a sheer cliff face - As such, we opted not to use the driveway and instead parked half a kilometre away, down a dirt road. Next, the Internet is not very functional - it's extremely slow when it does work (which wasn't always), and it doesn't penetrate at all to the lower floor where the bedrooms are located. While the four units have been very cleverly designed to ensure privacy from one another, there are almost daily visits from the property attendants (pool/garden, supervisor, maintenance etc.) which takes away from the private feel - you wouldn't want to wander around naked! Lastly, we were only a couple (2-person) and found the hot water could run out quickly for showers, which leads us to believe a full house of 4-5 persons may be limited in hot showers.
Dimos the caretaker is awesome and extremely helpful! Wonderful place on a beautiful island.
