"The hotel is in a great location, without a doubt, and price was reasonable considering this. The lobby is also very neat and has fun events. The rooms are nothing spectacular, and the bed is not very comfortable. There were several broken items in my bathroom, like the tile behind the shower head and the towel bar. Also the heater/air conditioner made the most atrocious noise, it was hard to sleep while using it."

"The room where i stayed was outdated and very small however my cousin’s room are renovated and bigger. Booked with breakfast but not worth it since it only give you option of bagel or toast. Location is good. I’m being generous in giving them a rate of 3/5."

"Our first stay at Ameritania and our experience was in-line with some existing reviews. Our room was due for a refresh. The 2 drawers on a dresser/bench furniture either stuck shut or wouldn't stay shut. The bed frame upholstery was worn out. Positive, the bathroom was decent with quick and abundant hot water. The room refrigerator ran quietly. By NYC standards, our room was spacious for price. For seasonal disorders, the hotel had turned off their heating system. '26 NYC was having probably unseasonable cool spring and our room was on the cool side. Staff sent up some extra blankets which showed some empathy. With a couple near-proximity construction projects currently underway, light sleepers might avoid for a while, at least I find the siren chirps of the city soothing. "

"Sadly our room Was very outdated . Tap in tub was so hard to turn on Air conditioning or heat didn’t work No electrical outlets handy for changing phones It was very loud at all times of the day!"

"This place is a dump. Do not stay here. Garbage in the hall and the lights in the room are on sensors that turned on every time I moved - all night!! A true nightmare. "

"Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet any of my expectations. I paid $989 for 3 nights. Other than the convenience of everything being close, such as the subway, Times Square, Broadway Theater, Central Park, etc. I experienced harassment by a guy who just walked into the lobby and begged for money again and again. Unfortunately, another one of the problems with this location is that there are no parking lots associated with the hotel so the nearest parking lot is down the block ($67 a night, not to mention) but the biggest problem is that you can’t turn left, which is where the hotel is at, so my boyfriend went to go get the car while I waited in the lobby with all of our suitcases. What is about a three minute walk turned into a 20 minute drive for him. During that time, the guy was constantly insisting I give him money and asking how long until my boyfriend got back. He sat by me and interrogated me. Sadly it took about 15 minutes before a worker/guard came and told him to leave. The hotel had a D rating, no trash bag inside the bathroom or room, the doors to our rooms were covered in grime/unknown white stains, bad smell down the hall, dirty floors. We were on the 8th floor and couldn’t sleep all night due to the loud noise outside and construction in the morning. Tiny room with no space for our suitcases. Not at all like the photos on their website. Maybe it once used to be all that. Only stayed 2 nights, couldn’t do it another night. Waste of money!"

"Overall, I had a good stay. I understand the building is old, but there were things that are basic maintenance that needed to be done. Example, paint chipping off the doors and moulding, the ceiling above the shower was bubbling from the moisture, and there's no fan/vent in the bathroom. The heater did not work, it was blowing out cold air and actually dropped the temperature of the room, thankfully we had warmer weather. It was overall very clean, and the sheets and towels were fresh and clean. I only stayed one night, and it was good enough for that, if I was staying longer, I definitely would have asked for the heat to be addressed. The staff was very nice and check in was very smooth."
