Wansfell View is situated in the beautiful and picturesque village of Hawkshead in the Lake District National Park. This lovely stone built
end of terrace cottage has been tastefully decorated and furnished retaining the original character, whilst providing all the modern amenities, including a hot tub, including a hot tub, and with the convenience of a ground floor bedroom and shower room it is ideal for extended families for a fantastic holiday at any time of the year.
Location:
Wansfell View is situated in a prominent position
at the end of the main street in Hawkshead. Once a farm carpenter`s shop it is within level walking distance of the pretty village of Hawkshead with a variety of pubs, shops and cafes.
Property Details:
•Traditional end of terraced character Lakeland cottage with the following reception rooms:-
•Dining kitchen with modern amenities and table to seat 6/8.
•Sitting room with comfy seating, Smart TV, decorative fireplace, and views towards the fells.
•Second sitting room/snug with comfy seating and Smart TV.
•Ground floor bedroom with double bed, TV, wardrobe.
•Ground floor shower room (up a couple of steps from the bedroom) with shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail.
•Boot room with space to leave outdoor gear, washer and dryer.
First floor:
•Bedroom one with King size bed, TV, large bank of wardrobes and views to the front towards the fells.
•Bedroom two has double bed, wardrobe and views to the front towards the fells.
•Bedroom three has double bed, wardrobe and views to the front towards the fells.
Two shower rooms - both have shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail.
Outdoor Space:
•Complete with a hot tub, table and chairs and secure bike storage.
•Parking in the driveway for up to two cars and a further two spaces to the rear of the property. EV charger next to the garage in the driveway. Payment to be made by Voltshare App and own lead should be used.
Wansfell View is a doddle to find: it`s just located at the end of the Main High Street in Hawkshead.
Worried about parking? Don`t be. There is parking for two cars in the driveway right next to the property and a further two to the rear of the property.
And when it comes to checking in, we`ve made it as simple as can be. Just use the key safe outside of the front door for self check-in and let your Lake District adventure begin!

Hawkshead is one of those villages that feels like it’s stepped out of a storybook—cobbled lanes, whitewashed cottages, and proper old-world charm. Tucked between Windermere and Coniston, it’s a brilliant base for walking, pub lunches, and exploring the quieter side of the Lakes. No cars in the village centre means it’s peaceful too—just the sound of boots on stone and the occasional church bell.
We`ve got your parking sorted - free driveway parking for two cars next to the cottage and a further two to the rear of the property.
As for buses, you`ll find the main stop right at the village entrance. It`s hard to miss - it`s right across from the Chocolate Factory, next to the main car park and the loo block.
You can catch a bus to Coniston and Ambleside (the 505) from here. Once you`re at Ambleside, you`ll be able to hop on a service that`ll take you anywhere you fancy in the area.
If you`re more a taxi kind of person, you`re spoilt for choice: Windermere Taxis, Ambleside Taxis, Ambleside Amber Taxis, Lakes Taxis, and John’s Taxis are all at your service. Just ask them to pick you up at the Queens Head - it`ll make things a breeze.
Fancy a tour without the hassle of driving? Check out Mountain Goat tours. You can hire your own ride or join a group trip around the lakes. It`s a cracking way to take in the sights without having to keep your eyes on the road. And the cherry on top? They`ll give you a commentary along the way to point out all the must-see spots!
1. Two well-trained dogs are welcome at this property for an additional charge. Dogs visiting the property should be kept off all furniture, downstairs and never left unattended. We also kindly ask that you make sure that you pick up after you dog also, thank you.
2. For safety reasons, please don`t light candles in the property.
3. Unfortunately, we don`t have stair gates for little ones.
4. Parking is a breeze with private parking for two cars in the driveway and a further two spaces to the rear of the property. EV charger next to the garage in the driveway. Payment to be made by Voltshare App and own lead should be used.
5. For the comfort of neighbours the hot tub should only be used between 9am and 10pm.
6. No Stag or Hen Parties.
🚫 Strictly no parties or excessive noise—this is a peaceful location meant for relaxing stays.
