Pros: - Great communication with hosts- Beautifully decorated- Extremely useful mudroom inside the back door, with plenty of space for boots and coats- Excellent location for hiking- Great village shop/cafe and pub a few minutes' walk away- On-site parking for more than one car (although it is very tight)- Located right by an on-demand bus stop for easy hourly access to Ambleside and Old/New Dungeon Ghyll- Binoculars available for watching the wildlife and admiring the viewsCons: - No tumble dryer (we knew this ahead of time, but having one would have really enhanced our stay, and there is plenty of room for one)- One of the bathrooms (the one next to the attic bedroom) is extremely small- The attic bedroom door doesn't close properly- Only the attic bedroom has true blackout window blinds- Lots of steps throughout the property (some of them steep), which could be challenging if travelling with small children or people with limited mobility- The microwave is small and very basic (does not allow for a precise cooking time to be entered) and there was no splatter guard- Tons of spiders on the lower level!
