「My husband and I had a great stay at the Hoothaus. Great location with easy access to mountain biking and running trails. Close to the lake and to downtown Nevada City, yet still quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very communicative and helpful in suggesting local activities. Space was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed! Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. 」

In the morning, you may hear people walking around upstairs. Something to consider if you are a light sleeper or want to sleep in. It was a short walk to town. Pretty sparse surroundings and it's deep in the woods, so it's remote and private. 「We had family in town (Grass Valley) from Bay Area and East Coast. We all enjoyed the incredible views and had plenty of room to spread out and relax. My mother in law celebrated her 90th birthday and was able to get away and we all felt like we had a nice vacation. Thank you!」
