"Nice large room with balcony and nice Mountain View’s. Excellent breakfast. What really made the stay was the staff. My wife had an injury which hampered her mobility and everyone from breakfast staff to front desk went out of their way to make our stay easier. They turned a bad situation into a positive experience. Can’t say enough about everyone’s kindness "

"This is a hotel partly up the mountain accessible only by cable car. They should warn people strongly no service up after 4 PM. But the stay was exceptional. Immediate access to trails. Incredible views of Matterhorn and immediate access to hiking trails and cable service a lot higher. Good meals, dinner and breakfasts. Dinner is included in stay, but waiters should warn that beverages are separate and charged for, even five euros for a cheap little teabag. Everything is included at breakfast, which are good. My room window looked out on the Matterhorn, and watching it in starlight and at dawn was incredible. I did not realize where this hotel was when I booked it, and got so much more than I expected. Kind and helpful staff. Strongly recommend this place. (Not every room has a Matterhorn view like mine did, not is the weather as good as it was on my stay. Cloudy or bad weather obvious affects views and activities, and hotel has no control over this.) "

"Like most we were drawn to the view, but that's really all it has to offer. And let's be clear, in the valley all the views are amazing, so this is not unique. The rooms are looking tired and run-down, and it's clear the maintenance has been to fix things in a very 'DIY' standard. It is not a comfortable space, the beds and fixtures and finishing are all of the cheapest quality. The sinks blocked the first day, and remained so despite requesting help to unblock them. Eventually done after 10 hours and some further requests. The shower water temperature is dictated by anyone using the kitchen tap. Cigarette butts littered the space directly outside our accommodation. All of the huts are packed together - you will know your neighbours intimately. We went to the bar the first night and were served by an unhappy teenager that was more interested in making comments to his friends next to him than serving us. Now after all this, take into consideration the cost. Outrageous. You can find significantly better for significantly less."
