「We traveled two weeks in Scotland and Appleby Castle had by far the most delicious dinner. Staff was small but worked hard and swift. Castle was cozy and true to its heritage. 」

Dover Sole for dinner was magnificent. Wines chosen from their adjacent wine shop ( corkage £10 per bottle ) were exceptional and good prices for Bin ends.

「I had a wonderful overnight stay here. The room was lovely, ver quiet with beautiful views and a very comfortable bed. I did use the spa which was at extra cost but it was lovely and relaxing. I opted for the fine dining in the evening and it was outstanding. Breakfast was included and the menu had plenty of options from continental to freshly prepared hot options.The staff were very helpful and friendly- I will certainly rebut for a longer visit. 」
「Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business.
Food options were limited when we arrived, particularly for our two fussy children, so we did eat elsewhere that night, but the cooked breakfast in the morning was very good,...

「Wasn’t aware until shortly before our visit that we’d booked during the Appleby Horse Fair so following a Police advisory, they weren’t selling alcohol. Which was a shame as I like to drink local brewery beer when away, but we were allowed to bring our own bottles. In all other respects, our stay was amazing!」
「The property was seeped in history. We stayed in room 3, the Kings room. A lovely compact room, spotless with lovely little touches such as a great selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, a fresh little bottle of milk, a comfy bed, feather duvet, black out curtains, great shower and toiletries.
The breakfast was fantastic.
George, our host gave us helpful information and free tickets to Raby Castle. Wow, what a fabulous castle. The rooms were stunning and thd guides very knowledgeable.

「Comfortable and good food with quick service. Plenty of sockets in the room, in useful places, which is great when travelling for business and having work to do. There wasn't a desk as it was a small single room, but there was a socket, with USB charger on the wall by the bed and a cushion to use, so working sitting on the bed was comfortable and convenient.」
