"Lovely stay in a very convenient location. I arrived by plane and took a direct train to Gare du Nord, followed by a short 12 minute walk to the hotel. For my return, it was just a 12 minute walk back to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar, which made the whole journey seamless. "We were a bit unlucky that we visited Paris at the height of a heatwave in May. With temperatures at 32C outside, our top floor flat was often 36C inside. We were glad of the portable AC unit and the fans. Still, the flat was very very warm. I would not stay here in the summer. The flat is SMALL. We knew this when we booked, but the mezzanine bedroom has barely enough space for adult to crawl on all-fours. We didn't mind too much, but be aware that this is indeed tiny. The downstairs portion of the flat was excellent. Lots of clever storage for keeping things out of the way. Was lovely to have a little kitchen area for coffee in the mornings. But I wouldn't cook an entire meal here, especially in the heat! We loved being right in middle of Le Marais. The green courtyards were a lovely respite from the busy city. We felt very safe in this room, and there was no loud city noise to speak of. I would stay here again in Spring/Autumn. But, like most of Europe, not set up for the increasingly warm summers."

"The Hoxton is a lovely property, very clean and professionally staffed. It is also quite the vibe in the lobby, with a lot of traffic from non-hotel guests eating and socializing and, unfortunately, getting in the way. Not my thing, but maybe it’s yours so not necessarily a negative. The first of two definitive things that were objectively negative were the bathroom walls being glass - not see through at all, but light conducive. Each time we needed the bathroom at night, we’d have to light up the whole space to use it, and the worst of it is that the light was by the front door, so even if the walls weren’t glass, you’d need to open and close the door twice and let the light wake up your partner. Not ideal. Other than that, lovely bathroom. Clean, stylish, great shower. The second was the air conditioning or lack thereof. We were in Paris when it was very hot (32-34C) and our room was consistently very, very warm. Regardless of how low we set the AC, the room temperature was uncomfortable. I doubt it dipped below 25-26. For this reason alone, we wouldn’t stay again. Very nice staff, well-maintained hotel, nicely located with regard to public transit and restaurants. If you’re an extrovert who likes it on the hot side, this is the property for you."

"This is a fairly good alternative for a single or couple who doesn’t look for luxury. It is a bare bones property. The pros: it’s in a location with two useful Metro lines close by, and is on a fairly inactive short street between two busy neighborhoods. There are ample bistros and restaurants with real Parisians rather than tourists. The cons: the ad implies that they speak English, but I had to rely on my high school French; the housekeeping is poor, only coming after you return from a day of sightseeing, then only making the bed but never changing the sheets; the breakfast is mid, and served in a tiny room that becomes claustrophobic with several guests eating at once. For a lower priced property it’s fine. For tourists who want a level of service and luxury, they might be disappointed."

"Just five minutes' walk from the Gare du Nord so it's great if you're arriving by Eurostar. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was quite small (well, this is Paris) but clean and comfortable. Nice to have a bath. Breakfast was basic but had all you'd probably want."

"This was a great hotel in a good area of Paris. The hotel is a little bit dated, but the room was comfortable and the staff was so incredibly helpful and professional. The older man at the front desk was an absolute master of his craft and remembered my name and room from check in without fail. They also helped me out when I needed to grab breakfast a bit early one day. Really great staff."
