Amazing stay

This place was the biggest hotel I have ever stayed at. It was like a resort I even got lost in a good way ! I would stay at any van der valk property again so nice !

Great hotel with very nice rooms and a large TV. Great facilities, large pool, bubblebath and saunas. Excellent location close to Alkmaar, right next to the motorway exit and on-ramp. Very friendly service in reception. Very unprofessional security. Reception sent me around the building, as my room was in the opposite end by the other entrance. Right as I enter by the other exit, I am confronted by a very hostile security guard who is shooing me away. I show him my room key card, and he tells me that I am not allowed to enter from that entrance in a very angry manner. I was shocked at this behavior, and I went back to the reception, where a young lady apologized and told me that I was allowed through said entrance. Overall, good stay.

Although the hotel is located by the high way, the location is great, close to Amsterdam and the seaside and lots of great outdoor things to do. Spa and gym is very clean and pool is very big. The family rooms are very spacious! We had a lovely stay!

Potential, but a waybto go

The hotel has potential, staff dooing their best, but clearly most of them are amateurs. Every night the restaurant was visited by several mice, same in the bar. Not good hygene in areas where food is made/served.

Nice hotel/people/pool!But cleaning needs help

Was a nice hotel. The people at the desk were very nice and efficient. The room was large and had a outside patio w chairs. But the room was not well cleaned. The floors were dusty and had different hairs around the room. There was a pair of mens dirty underwear under the radiator that I had to gather up and throw out otherwise my wife wouldn’t stay in the room.

Dissatisfied and let down.

The minute we arrived we noticed that our sink in the toilet was blocked, the phone line to the reception was not working either so we walked up to the reception TWICE to inform them but they’ve let us down we had to use the bath sink for our 3 days stay. There was lots of dust and some rubbish under our bed that wasn’t cleaned before we came. Not happy for this service, we payed a lot of money and are disappointed.

When is a.double bed not a double bed

Dreadful, I left clear.notes with the booking to say if this wasnt an actual double mattress then they must reject the booking because I cannot sleep in a single bed. And yes, this was 2 single beds barely pushed together, couldnt sleep either night as the beds kept separating and I would fall.on the floor, really disappointing and I expect a.refund based on 2.nights of no sleep and taking my booking when I expressly said I need a double mattress
