  • A very charming, spacious apartment with exposed beams and stone floors. It features three bedrooms, including a master suite with a hammam, plus two other comfortable bedrooms with walk-in showers. With its lovely, quiet, tree-lined garden, you can explore this city of art entirely on foot—its historic center, numerous museums, and restaurants, with the Cours Mirabeau just a short walk away, as well as the cathedral and the opera festival.
    Just 30 minutes from the seaside resorts, accessible via a well-connected road network.

Lovely stay

It was a bit of a puzzle to get into the home But, that was the only hiccup Once it was figured out, getting in and out was easy. A lot of space and wonderful showers. House was very clean and felt like home. Outside sitting space was well shaded and clean. Very easy walk to a lot of shopping and restaurants

Séjour agréable, l appartement est situé dans le centre historique, le jardin apporte de la fraîcheur lorsqu il fait très chaud. L appartement est aussi agréable et bien agencé. Seul bémol : le ménage n est pas au top et les rangements peu pratiques.

Needs improvement

The location is excellent. Mostly clean but some cups had weeks of mold. Probably just an oversight. The wif-fi code had been partially erased. One toilet had an electric flush device which had broken off and fallen down the back. It took several and repeated emails to locate. The host seems like a nice guy, a bit abrupt in his correspondence and often very late.

Loved it all!

My ten days in Aix were wonderful from start to finish. The apartment is perfect--just rustic enough to be interesting with all the right updates (wonderful bathrooms). And, the location is perfect, walking distance to everything I wanted to see. Jean Pierre is a very responsive host and we communicated often--thanks to Google Translate--he in French, me in English. I hated to leave. A caution, however, for those with mobility issues. Aix is hilly and the apartment is on a hill and a very narrow street. The taxi drops off and picks up a block away and there are stairs down to the main level and up to the extra bedroom.

Great location

The location in the walled city is excellent and the communtcation to get the keys was simple. The apartment is lower level and quite moldy. It was clean, but needed a deep cleaning, sticky tables, old items in kitchen refrig and cabinets. The owner had many personal items left around, a tie on an eisle, clothes in the closet, bathroom drawers filled with items; which made it feel like i was crashing at a freinds house, not renting an apt. Not to my liking. The location was the saving grace.

House in Aix en Provence

House for rent in Aix en Provence. Unfortunately, our experience of the apartment did not meet our expectations. Firstly, it was a basement apartment, which was in no way apparent from the description. The mosquito nets for the windows only worked in one bedroom and one window in the living room. Bowls and pots were missing in connection with the cooking. In addition, we had to wash mugs and cutlery before use. Finally, we have to say that the garden was messy and very damp, which of course is not so surprising since the neighbors had very large trees in their gardens that shaded most of the light in "our" garden. The apartment is otherwise perfectly located right on the edge of the city, which was really fantastic. The fridge/freezer as well as the oven/microwave were clean and tidy. Likewise, the wc and bathrooms were neat and worked perfectly. For another time, it would be nice if you could get 2 sets of keys. When you are 2 or 3 couples, you don't always have to do the same thing, and it would be nice if you could get in without calling for help.

Old friends in Aix

The apartment was wonderfully cool in the hot weather and we had three double bedrooms which suited our needs. The apartment was in a central location in the old town of Aix-en Provence and really convenient for exploring a lovely city. The host was pleasant and helpful explaining how things worked and recommending restaurants and places to visit. He came promptly when we telephoned him. We did not think the apartment was up to the standard expected for a summer rental because: The owner's family clothes and belongings were cluttering the rooms. The kitchen was not adequately equipped. There were no bowls nor jugs, and no sieves; the large cooking pot was not compatible with the induction hob. The insect screens did not fit the windows and so were inadequate. The apartment was not very clean; the garden was covered in dead leaves and the stone water feature was quarter full of stagnant water breeding mosquitos. It did not feel inviting. The inside stairs were difficult and the mat in one bathroom very slippery. Both were likely to result in an accident.

großartige Lage

ruhige, gepflegte Wohnung, wenige Schritte von der Kathedrale entfernt. Da die Wohnung schattig ist, ist sie für einen Aufenthalt im Sommer bestens geeignet. Da die Wohnung auf verschiedenen Ebenen is und schmale Stufen hat, eignet sie sich weniger für Gehbehinderte.
