"First of all , Tom is a lovely host friendly and had suggestions for dining and taxi service . Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for moving around . Breakfast was very hospitable and yummy food provided with company at one table with the other B&B persons. My only issue was that four rooms shared a bathroom on the second storey so maybe a suggestion would be to have potentially scheduled shower times or cleaning supplies to share between persons visiting . "Mary, our host, was lovely. Very friendly and helpful. The Gables is a cute, quaint building. Our room and bed were on the small side but both were comfortable. Easy bus ride from Edinburgh and train ride from Glasgow. "

"Tastefully decorated home with incredibly comfortable room and bathroom. Only accomodations we stayed in that had a more than decent sized shower. Hosts Kevin and Kim were so welcoming and helpful with our questions. Wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely views while enjoying a cooked to order breakfast and chatting with these personable owners. Every other accomodation we stayed in (and there were five!) we measured against this one and for me, none compared."

"Beautiful location and a very comfortable bed, however, for a 4* rating hotel in quite a small town location, one would expect a more personal-touch type of a customer service. Room was very comfortable but upon closer inspection of the bedroom/bathroom aspects, quality comes closer to 3* level. "

On the way to the B&B, there was an accident in the middle of Linlithgow cutting off all traffic through the town and I had no idea how to get through to the B&B. Without needing to call, Catriona messaged us with directions helping us get around the traffic and saved an extended argument in the car! "Beautiful cosy warm cottage. Delightfully decorated with plad curtains and cushions. Elaine made us very welcome. We enjoyed the garden and hot tub. Would certainly recommend and will definitely be returning."
