Large lake front Ainsworth house

Welcome to Kootenay Getaway inAinsworth, a large comfortable lake front home in the spectacular Kootenay region that can be enjoyed in both the summer and winter months.
Open forSummer (May 15th - September 30th)
This gorgeous 4 bedroom spacious home is located on Kootenay lake between Kaslo and Balfour. Two gardens, 4 bathrooms, 8 beds (and one playard), laundry facilities, a large tv room and games room downstairs complete with pool table and foosball table. This is a great place to gather family and friends under one roof and enjoy each others company whilst making the most of this action packed region. Have a BBQ, go, boating, golfing, zipwire adventure, caving, canoeing, hot springs, hiking;there is so much to do! Please note that there is no direct lake access from the property.

The house was large enough for 12 people, and the deck was great with a nice view. Beds were comfy and plenty of bathrooms. A couple of cons though, the basement had a large amount of spiders, I spent 2 hours vacuuming floors, ceilings, and walls because the kids didn’t want to be downstairs, and the outside could use a pick me up. We enjoyed our stay overall, nice and close to the hot springs, about a 2 min drive.

Mini family reunion

Great little family reunion. Acknowledged a 21st and 80th birthday. Family from Canada and the UK. Beautiful home and beautiful location. Great space for a group to enjoy.

Beautiful Location

We enjoyed our stay at this house! We enjoyed the beautiful view and watching the snow fall over the lake. There is plenty of room to spread out in the house, the bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious, the dining table seats a large group comfortably, and the game room kept everyone entertained! We had a great time on our winter getaway!

Spacious and Comfortable

Large and accommodating house. Enough bedroom and baths for everyone in our group. We enjoyed the pool table too. It is an ideal location if you platoon going to Ainsworth Hot Springs.

Grandpa's 80th birthday!

12 of us stayed for 3 nights, celebrating an 80th birthday. A perfect place for a family get together. 6 teenage kids were so happy with the pool table, foosball, the huge TV with the comfy couch for watching movies, and the fire pit. Plus the huge flat lawn for playing games. The kitchen is well equipped, the views are amazing, and the outdoor Adirondack chairs are perfect for around the fire. The hosts were responsive, and the caretaker Kevin introduced himself and said he was available if needed. Thank you so much for a great weekend.

Beautiful lake front home

We had a great time. The house was very clean and had lots of room for all of us. You can't beat the views in the morning when the sun comes up over the mountains. I would absolutely recommend this as a nice getaway.

Perfect Getaway

Used it for first family get together in 5 years. All thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We really enjoyed the luxury of the home, all the bathrooms being a big plus for 11 people. Kaslo close by a really neat little town. Views spectacular & we did know house wasn’t air conditioned but there were fans in every bedroom & deck was covered.

Absolutely awesome place

The property was gorgeous and the bedrooms very comfortable with nice linens and good pillows. Hosts had all the little necessities in the kitchen as well. We were welcomed by Kevin who made sure we knew where to find him if we needed anything. Loved the great balcony overlooking the lake, and our whole group was very happy with our weekend here. Tons of room to spread out and lots of big rooms to hang out together too.

Wonderful!!

We had a fabulous stay in this large and beautiful home. The view from the balcony is amazing! It was wonderful to have so much space for 3 separate families. The hosts were very responsive to a couple of questions we had. I would return without hesitation and hope to do so!

Awesome Girls Golf Getaway

This property is fantastic. So much room for a group, large family or multiple families. We were a group of 8, the space and multiple bathrooms (very important with 8 ladies) were much appreciated. We golfed at Creston (on the way to Ainsworth from Calgary), Kokanee Springs & Balfour. The Kootenay Lake Ferry worked well - you just need to be aware of the schedule. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone. Thx Lorna!

The Perfect Family Get Away

We were a large group of 3 families with 6 adults and 8 kids under 9 years old. This rental was perfectly set up for our group. The bunk bed room provided the perfect space for all of our kids to get some space. The hosts were kind enough to have 2 spare mattresses available for the kids that wanted to stay in their parents rooms. The downstairs amenities helped ensure when we were in the unit all the kids had somewhere to play. The renovated bathrooms were a perfect touch with massive bathtubs with room to accommodate a few bathing toddlers. The upstairs living area was great for socializing and downtime. The deck is massive with beautiful views of the lake. The kitchen may appear small, but with the large induction stove we had all the space we needed when cooking for 14. It was also fully stocked with enough dishware, cutlery etc. for our large group. There are an endless number of activities in the area for travelers of all ages. The hosts provide a great guide book for the unit that will answer just about all your questions and have even included a wall sized map of the lake which was a great touch. Thank you Mark and Lorna for providing the perfect rental to give us and our kids lifelong core memories. Mike.
