HOTEL KANALOA

10/10 Excellent

"LOVEDDD my stay here! There isn’t much hotels on tokashiki island but this one was the cheapest. The FREE hotel shuttle service is amazing! They have designated times where they will take you hotel <-> aharen beach both before/after you check in! There is also a restaurant at the hotel which is great because there is limited food options by the hotel… but there is food trucks by Aharaen Beach. Aharen beach is beautiful with lots of snorkeling / beach umbrella rentals!"

"I adored this hotel. The rooms were quite comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and luxurious. When I stayed there, the tides were quite low, so the swimming area was too shallow to swim. But the beach was well tended and beautiful. And the pool area was lovely. My only criticism would be that the carpets in the common area were all stained and sad looking. Otherwise, I was very happy to stay in this hotel."

Oceana Portvillage Zamami

"Really enjoyed my stay at Oceana, which is a 5-6 min walk from the Zamami port. It’s a very well run and operated hotel, the owner/manager takes an active role in ensuring everything runs smoothly, including driving the shuttle to the beaches (Furizamami and Ama), which is much appreciated. There is also free water and coffee/tea. Breakfast is an additional cost, which I did not try but looked good. The rooms are spacious and I had one that had a balcony overlooking the water, which was nice. Also, they accommodated an early check-in, which was very welcoming after the ferry ride in. The place just felt very hospitable, staff were helpful and friendly. Would come back in the future for sure."

The Uza Terrace Beach Club Villas

"Right from check-in, the service was impeccable. We were welcomed with fresh juices for the whole family and driven to the villa in a buggy. With breakfast provided, and a meal allowance, we were well fed throughout. Breakfast alone included bread basket, smoothies, appetiser plate, main, soup and a fruit combo. They even offered champagne as part of breakfast. From 2pm every day, they also served free cakes and snacks in the lounge. The staff were super attentive, and checked with us daily on our meal plans. The rooms were very clean, spacious for our family of five. The bath tubs were ginormous. Toiletries were generously well stocked. The outdoor jacuzzi in our villa was awesome. The hotel had a super relaxed and chill vibe. Simply the best of Japanese hospitality. Do take note that there is a daily charge for parking."

Best Western Okinawa Onna Beach

8/10 Good

"Very clean rooms and lots of space! I did request a crib in advance but it was not in the room when I checked in. They tried to make me wait until the next day to have it set up, which is weird because my baby would have had nowhere to sleep and the beds are very tall. However one of the front desk staff was kind enough to build it for me that night. The breakfast was very delicious, although some of the staff in the kitchen were rude. Overall I would stay here again, due to great location and right next to the beach. Parking is paid but very cheap."

Grand Mercure Okinawa Cape Zanpa Resort

"We booked in to the Grande Mercure for 3 nights during our 14 day trip for a bit of a relax with the kids (ages- 9, 10, 11 & 12). This totally hit the spot! We chose the executive level so we'd have access to the breakfast, snacks and drinks throughout the day and it was the best decision we made. It is a huge lounge with tons of space for families. We had great breakfast options and the coffee and drinks throughout the day were exceptional. We did not eat at the main restaurant but enjoyed lunches and one dinner at the Pizza/Waterside restaurant. It was nice to have the executive lounge space to get together with our friends, the kids could play games/cards and the adults were able to snack, read and drink when we weren't at the pool. The rooms were very well appointed and the waterslides, pools, lazy river and beach are all well maintained and easy to access. Of note, kids under 13, must be accompanied by an adult on the big tube waterslide AND in the water. That was a disappointment for us as our kids are all athletic swimmers but needed supervision IN the water at all times. We wished there was a swim test so the lifeguards could identify kids who are capable in the water. This was a very minor thing but did affect how we spent our time. Also of note, if its too windy (which we encountered during our time), there is no ability to open the umbrellas meaning there is next to no shade available at the pool. We had an exceptional meal @ Maruki Pizza a short Uber ride away."
