Afareaitu Waterfall

Great location close to cruise port and ferry port! Wish it had a pool and washcloths in the bathroom at least. Nice size rooms. Expensive restaurant and bar but similar to others in the area.

The resort was above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding - especially the fresh pastries and the omelette bar manned by Heinz. The snorkeling right off shore was fabulous. If we ever are able to return to Moorea, we will definitely stay at the Sofitel Kia Ora again!

Property was nice but definitely an older property. Run down. Needs a face lift and upgrade. We upgraded to the premium room and it was just ok. It was 2 stories which’s worked for us but probably should have been noted. It was kinda inconvenient having the 2 nd floor, getting the suitcases up there and constantly going up and down. But awesome views. The room was old looking. Overall just needs to be updated. The fridge was tiny. Nothing fit in it. Hotel needs ice machines. Maybe another restaurant. It’s very far away from everything so if you are looking for quiet it’s great but if you want to go out to eat or shop there is nothing around. There is a free shuttle to town Papeete which was great but it needs to go more often. It only goes twice a day and never near meal times so you are always rushed back to eat at the hotel again. And no shuttle on Sundays. Regarding food at the hotel. It was very good. We obviously ate many meals there and they were always good. Great happy hour everyday. The staff was always friendly and nice. Overall nice hotel just older
