Staff is very pleasant and welcoming. I absolutely loved the people there. The room is very clean. When you need something, someone is always there for you! All in all, I donn't normally write a review but I'm happy that I chose HomeTown Addiss Hotel.

Ne plus ultra

Kerubel and staff were gracious and most helpful. Kerubel arranged 2 tours outside Addis, receptionist actually walked me to the ATM! The hotel is bright and cheery, room clean and comfortable, breakfast lovely, coffee of course wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Best bed so far! But breakfast could improve.

Clean room, very helpful staff and the most comfy hotel bed I have slept in so far. Fridge in the room was great, but I missed a desk and a chair (there was no place to sit except for on the bed). No AC, but that was ok because it was not hot in the night. The breakfast could be better. Boring selection of food, although great coffee. Overall a great value stay!

Cultural Differences

The good things: The place is clean, people are continually cleaning. In the evening and early morning, the two men were excellent assistants with our luggage. When our planned early morning airport ride could not come due to road closures (the return of the Prime Minister), the young man went to the street to get a taxi for us. Alternatively, our room did not look like the photo here, but we did request a room no higher than the first floor. It was okay and the shower had hot water. Strangely, a young man came to the door our first night and took our table away, without an explanation due to lack of English. We had to put all our things on the floor and never received the table back again. Also strange, though breakfast was included, when I asked for a second cup of coffee, I was charged for it.

Manager was awesome

The manager and staff were very helpful with any requests that I had even when I had a change in plans. The condition of the building itself was OK. The location was centrally located. The price was good.

We stayed on the newly renovated 2 room suite with Marble floor. The hotel is extremely convenient, located on safe & quite street right of a street that leads to bole, urael & chichinia!The neighborhood is safe, equipped with everything you need! the staff are so kind and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. Airport pick up & drop offs were easy to organize. for the quality, and for the location, the price was unbeatable! i will certainly stay there next time i am in addis!

Wir hatten eine Familiensiite gebucht rund zwei getrennte Zimmer bekommen. Das Frühstück war ekelig. Die Teppiche und Wände versifft. Die Nachttischlampen gongen nicht. Und die Dusche konnte nicht geschlossen werden.

The hotel is in the midst of everything. However, note: Taxi drivers do not know this hotel. Use the Washington Hotel across the street as the landmark. NOTE 2: There is NO elevator. The building has four floors. Remember Addis is 6,300 ft above sea levels and you will feel it!! Otherwise the hotel is a great stay. The Full breakfast in the morning is great too.

Nice budget hotel. Some rooms are better than others - tradeoff between number of flights to climb and quality of room. One of the rooms we visited was bigger buut had unpleaseant smell, while the smaller one was actually more comfortable and clean. Pickup shuttle from airport did not work as planned but for 200 bir you can get easily a cab to bring you there on your own, it simplifies things. Staff is pleasant and courteous.

Excellent hotel in an ideal location. (lots to do within walking distance) Although this hotel is extremely local to restaurants, cafes, nightlife and banks, it still manages to be pretty quiet and private. It is the best of both worlds. The staff are very polite and attentive. They were very knowledgable and were able to give plenty of advice on things to do and where to go. I am extremely happy with the quality and my experience at this hotel. My only disappointment was having to eventually go home. A big thumbs up from me.

Just Passing Through

Room smelled like smoke and the carpet was damp and mildewy. Safe didn't work. Door came off the wardrobe when I tried to open it and it nearly fell on my daughter. Rooms on the 1st floor right above the bar area, where music and the scraping of chairs on floors kept us up until midnight. Ordered a tea and three waters at breakfast and got four teas. Ordered three scrambled eggs and one omelette and got three fried eggs and one scrambled, from a server who was clearly trying but did not speak English. Perhaps pictures on the menu we could point to for him. "Shuttle" to the airport was some random guy in a car. Wifi worked fine. Bathroom only had one towel for four guests. Spare pillow covered in dirt and hair.

What i like came after some furstration , the Night staff were eager to help once at the location but it was hard to locate and the phone number available online is that of the owner? Who wasnt going to answer an after hour calls ofcourse so that was furstrating. Need to update there contact details. Room was clean but for that kind of money i expected better no soap nothing in the fridge the door frame was sorta coming off though not easily noticed . Didnt have tissue but was provided onces asked . So the advise i would give is though i have laid out every little faults its not all about what wasn't available and already in the room its more about how the staff were quick to say our apologies we will get you whatever you need right away. Thank you staff at HH. 2Star for me.
