"We held a family reunion at Marilena and Sylvia‘s place and everyone had a great time. It is clean, welcoming, nearby sights such as Catania and Aetna are easily reached, pool area was just perfect for us and the garden is incredibly beautiful. We especially liked that the different families could be accomodated in different and independent apartments. There is a big common area where we could all gather. Marilena and Sylvia went out of their way to make us feel at home and on our request...

"The apartment smelled like mold and is so humid that our clothes got wet after staying inside for only 2 hours. If someone has asthma or allergies this would be a death trap! Unacceptable conditions for a vacation. "

"The location was lovely, beautiful grounds, pool and sea access. The apartment did lack a few basics. There were 3 odd mugs, no bowls, no wine glasses only an odd selection of different glasses. There was no sharp knife or chopping board. We purchased glasses, bowls and knife. Towels were supposed to be changed after 4 days but weren’t."

"Traumhaft schön gelegene Unterkunft. Elena die Vermieterin wohnt mit im Haus aber man kann in Ruhe seinen Urlaub genießen, weiß aber das immer jemand da ist wenn man etwas braucht. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut ausgestattet mit 2 Sonnenterrassen und traumhaften Blick auf das Meer und die Küste. Einzig der Zugang zur Unterkunft ist nicht so ganz einfach da die Straße die dort hinführt sehr sehr schmal ist. Wir hatten den aktuellen Opel Corsa als Mietwagen und links und rechts zu den Wänden nur...

"L'appartamento si trova in una piccola baietta di pescatori a località Pozzillo.. Un punto di partenza perfetta per le gite (Etna, Catania, Siracusa, Taormina, Isola Bella, Agrigento.. etc.) L'appartamento pulitissimo, comodo e di fronte al mare.. I bambini si divertivano a fare tuffi dagli scogli e ad esplorare con le maschere il fondale marino meraviglioso.. Il proprietario e la signora che si occupa dell'appartamento ci hanno coccolati in ogni nostra esigenza..😊❤️ Ci siamo sentiti a casa..."

"The home was located in a perfect spot for us to explore the hiking trails around Parco del Etna. Francesco and Lucia were always quick to respond to our requests. The house is well equipped, we had many meals overlooking the peaceful sea."

Hotel Santa Tecla Palace

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Santa Tecla Palace. The facilities were excellent - beautiful infinity pool overlooking the sea, just like the photos. Plenty of sunbeds to relax in. Easy access to swim in the sea from the hotel, with lifeguards on duty. Delicious food at all the restaurants. There isn't much to do in the immediate surrounding area - we walked into the nearest town one evening but we decided that the bars and restaurants on offer at the hotel were much nicer. This was perfect for us as we had intended our short trip to be a relaxing one based in the hotel, but for anyone hoping to explore Sicily a bit more I'd recommend renting a car, as taxis can be expensive. "

"For the price, it's 5-star. Very clean, no frills. AC works! There's soap and towels. Wonderful view from the common area balcony on the 2nd floor (no views from room)! They have limited parking space inside the compound, which was extremely helpful! The owners were sweet and helpful. We had a bit of communication issue at first, which was easily solved once face-to-face with google translate through phone. The only challenge was we didnt get much check-in details prior to arriving. So once there, we called the number (this is where we had some communication challenge, our fault we didn't speak Italian), but then once we could figure it out, everything was smooth. I strongly suggest letting them know what time you will be arriving because they could easily had not been there when we arrived (they left 5 mins after we arrived, so we were grateful to be able to get the keys before that!). In general in Italy, it is always a good idea to let the host know of arrival time, is a valuable lesson we learnt. "

"Unfortunately the bathroom in our room had. Horrible smell of rotten sewerage, I thought it will get better, but had to ask to be moved on the 2nd day, but was told that they were full; yet we never saw anyone! The breakfast was very skimpy and literally it looked like they counted the persons and only put like one piece of cheese and one slice of Coldcut per person, and that was it. If you were four people like we were, they were only four and sometimes only two slices of ham. Not very good selection. The worst part also is our room was right on top of their restaurant and it was very noisy from the morning till late at night. However, I guess if you have a better room, the experience will probably be a three star for Italy all around."

"Michaelangelo helped us every step of the way and even went out of his way to help us check in. He was amazing, thank you! The place is extremely clean, beautiful rooms, the beds are very comfortable, and the location is perfect for those who want to be near the downtown area. I highly recommend this stay and do yourself a favor and try the strawberry gelato at Bar Cipriani--you haven't tried a strawberry until you have tried this. Absolutely wonderful stay!!! "

"The property is very beautiful and the views of the sea from the slope of the Etna are spectacular. Very quiet, comfortable accommodations, very nice swimming pool. The location is excellent, a short drive to the sea and also close to Taormina and Catania, which was very convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. I would love to go back for a longer stay."
