Room cleanliness was okay — you get what you pay for. My main issue was the amount of noise inside the hotel itself. For the last couple of nights of my stay, there was heavy music and loud conversations continuing into the early hours of the morning, which was completely unacceptable for a hotel environment. Sleep was almost impossible. I also got the impression that the hotel may be being used as sheltered emergency accommodation through the local council, which may explain the constant disturbance and lack of control over noise levels. If you want a nightclub atmosphere on a weekday instead of a quiet hotel stay, then this is the place for you.

Great stay

Was only there one night due to work commitments but room was very comfortable, even though the rooms are above a lively pub, there wasnt much noise. Everything you need is there, tea, coffee, porridge and a comfortable bed.

A room above a pub near the centre of Accrington. The room itself was fairly basic, but equally was clean and large. For the price paid, I was happy enough.

The Castle is adequate for a one night stay given lack of options in Accrington itself and close to town centre and transport links. However room was noisy due to traffic being on a major road junction. To balance it is a good pub with friendly and helpful staff.

Really gem this place....Met by bar manager with a free drink....Everyone calls Everyone Darling....Friendly...Even the local Police were playing darts...Definitely stay again on my cycling travels. Tip for breakfast Wetherspoons 5 min away.

This is basically a pub with rooms, the building itself is in poor condition. It should not go under the guise of a Hotel as there wasn't even a bedside locker.

Comfortable Rooms Above A Cracking Pub

Booked here for an event in Burnley when all the local hotels were full, and very glad I did. Basic rooms above a pub but the room was comfortable, warm, quiet, and everything you could need for a sort stay. The pub itself was fantastic: friendly and lively, and the management and staff were welcoming, helpful, and lovely. Would be very tempted to come back just to spend the night in the pub. Recommended.

good one night stay over

This was a cheap and basic room i booked for a quick overnight stay to break up a long drive home. It suited my needs just fine and i have no complaints for less than £40 The polite young lady who showed me to my room gave me all the necessary info and checked i was happy with the room. No food at the venue so i got a couple of things from local supermarket.

Only had a hand towel, parking is shown as secure and it’s just street parking, very noisy area due to being on a major junction( not the hotels fault) no food including no breakfast. Hotel staff extremely friendly/helpful. up north people are anyway. Perfect location for business/leisure 4 mins from shopping centre. Room adequate, clean and tidy and bed comfortable enough. You can come and go at your own leisure. No late time limit as you get back door gate key. The only negative is no shower gel soap or hair dryer. I forgot mine so ensure you bring some. Good tea and coffee facilities and porridge pots also provided. Overall good value for money

For the cost the room was very basic. Staff member just showed me to the room with no info about how to get back in if the pub was closed or how to leave the next day when no-one would be around. No details given on Internet password or even asking if I had any questions, my very presence seemed to be an inconvenience. Shared areas full of rubbish, want to have a shower? Best bring your own shower gel as nothing is provided. Visit was Feb but no heating in the toilet/shower room I won't be coming back.
