Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel

8/10 Good

"Really central location and a perfect base for exploring Kilkenny town on foot. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable, but far too warm. We left the windows open overnight to try to keep it cool, which meant a lot of early morning noise from delivery trucks on the street below. There was a desk fan in the room, but that wasn't great, and it was very noisy too. Breakfast was a standard buffet, nothing special. The kids loved the pool, which is accessed via an underground walkway to the leisure centre across the road. Overall we enjoyed our stay."

"Beautiful hotel in Kilkenny. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous and the hotel was so beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only things that were a little difficult was that there were elevators to get luggage up to the upper floors, but then there was this walkway down the hallway that went down a few stairs, had a platform, and then up a few more stairs. So that’s something to keep in mind if you have physical limitations. This also is no fault of their own, but there is no air conditioning. They did provide fans but we came during a heatwave and it made the night practically unbearable. Again, not their fault AT ALL but if you’re looking for comfort, probably keep in mind the temperature. But overall, the hotel was a dream."
